  1. New league season – what’s your goal?

Well at least you are challenged in your league, that is way more important than to win everything! And ofc there are always games like the one you described... However sometimes the luck is on your side. Some time ago I had like 5 or 6 net/edge balls for me in three consecutive games... I...
  2. New league season – what’s your goal?

Nice! Where are you playing in Switzerland? I am playing at TTC Bern in the 4. league. Our aim is the third league for next and the second for the the season after that.
  3. New league season – what’s your goal?

Danke für den guten Rat :) I will think of you when im smashing them away. Funny thing my biggest weakness so far is playing against lobber or fisher. I really don't like smashing the ball. But im getting better at it and I learned that internal shoulder rotation is your friend for shots like this!
  4. New league season – what’s your goal?

We are running pretty good in the race to promotion! Today we had our third 10:0 win of the season and over probably our biggest rivals in the division. This leaves me with a 9:0 record. I can't say im not happy... but the games don't feel fun. I can't really play my game... I guess its...
  5. New league season – what’s your goal?

Good to hear :) gogo TTD members! I am at 6:0 but no real test so far. We will see how I do on Monday against similar rated players. I played in a team tournament as well but we did not fare too well, we dropped out in the round of 8 and I lost a match i should have won. I was leading with 2:1...
  6. New league season – what’s your goal?

Sorry to hear that! I hope you get well soon. As for me I played in the 4. league last year with a win rate of about 85%. Sadly we did not make the promotion to the third league. So this is going to be the overall goal for our team this season. My goal is sustaining a 100% winning record...
  7. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Hey Guys how have you been? I am back from my big hiking trip in Canada. It was a beautiful and meaningful experience for me. Photos are incoming soon... I even got to play some table tennis in the end. I spent the last three days before my flight back to Switzerland in Vancouver, where I found...

Next Monday i am flying abroad to Canada, not for tt this time unfortunately :-P I am going to do some hiking 1400 KM or about 900 miles of hiking to be exact! Our journey starts in Vancouver where we will be staying for two days from the 10. to the 12. and two days around the 20. of july. I...

    hahah i am loving this!
  11. Forehand loop internal shoulder rotation

I agree with Ilia. There are instances where the shoulder rotation is used. For example for flat hits, mostly seen from short pip players or for counter top spinning loaded balls, where you can go over the ball with a closed racket. (close to the table that is)

    Omg ... its George Clooney
  13. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Finally a good reason to do so :D
  14. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Jea but mine are so short, that the ball rarely makes contact with the nails. Rather with the skin infront.
  15. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Quick question: Is having long finger nails necessary to execute the "ball-in-the-finger-tips-spinning-trick" ? Because im trying to do it, but my finger nails are very short and the ball keeps pooping out when contact is made with my finger tips.
  16. Crazy flick by Romain Ruiz!

Look at 11:10 Dyjas does the shot as well, also Gauzy uses it a lot.
  17. Timo Boll different BH rubber?

I think they look the same, it just seems different because the backhand has a red topsheet. Was confused for a second as well.
  18. DHS Hurricane 8 Mid Tackiness?

From my experience, you don't want too much tack. Actually the good sheets aren't all that tacky. If a rubber is very tacky you lose speed and spin but gain control.
  19. Crazy flick by Romain Ruiz!

How about peeled banana flick? Or strawberry flick, although there is alrdy a strawberry flick which is quiet similar. -Mashed potato flick -Eel flick -The lets puuuu.. nah flick the ball!
