Also there are a lot of chinese rubbers that play great without booster. I like Battle 2 Gold/Nat or Xuperman Powerplay-X much more than Hurricane because i don't want to boost. But even boosted i choose Powerplay-X over Hurricane. I don't understand why a lot of people generalize Hurricane 3...
I don't think it is a problem if you are working with a coach or can analyze your videos. As a person who plays penhold in a country where pretty much no one even know to to grip penhold properly it's not that big of a deal.
TT technique has a lot of variables and every competent player has...
Also FZD don't use Butterfly apparel, it was always Li-ning, he even have signature shoe model, so we can say for sure that his butterfly contract is only for the TT equipment. So for me it looks like Anta tries to challenge Li-ning in terms of TT apparel in Asia, and rubbers are just there for...
Anta make some really great shoes, really want to see their take on TT shoes, even if i don't really like the TT shoes as a whole. I prefer badminton and basketball type of footwear to play, they are just more supportive and stable, but a lot of times heavier, but i don't find it to be a big...
Viscaria has pretty thin Cpen handle, i can't use it just because of shallowness, my grip becomes unstable. It's smaller than every other penhold blade in my collection(N301, Dynasty Carbon, M201, Pro 03, YuanJian Ganjiang).
I use really fine sandpaper, like 3000-5000. And it does not work with some rubbers(Stiga DNA Pro, for example), the grip does no change at all, but it never become worse. I can't really say how much, because i make it by feel with every rubber individually. But with rubbers that bite your...
Also i think it would be much easier to just change the blade. All of my cpen blades are under 85 gr after sanding, so 94 gr some crazy high weight for a penhold blade.
Also in my opinion it's easier to make your wrists stronger with exercise than try to find lighter backhand rubber. I play with 188 gr setups(YuanJian Ganjiang + YuanJian Zhantian + Battle 2 superselect) and it's perfectly comfortable. When i played Dynasty Carbon it was about 197 gr and it was...
You can just sand the rubber under your fingers to make surface grippier. A also sweat a lot and make it with all my cpen setups. I can play without sanding rubber on 09c, but tensor rubbers like dignics 05, matra pro or DNA pro are just must sand if you want stable grip.
I had exactly the same problem as OP. Now i'm really relaxed while playing. For me the biggest change was to do rock climbing. But any other high-coordination sport with unique movement would work too. It's just i was too bad at coordinating movement. TT is a sport with really repetative...
Harder rubbers are developed for different kind of technique.
Classic 90's topspin was all about brush, but with modern ball it's not that practical to do every time. Mostly you would use much more foreward momentum, and with soft rubbers ball would just fly uncontrollably. For me 50° ESN is...
I ordered from them some stuff 3 times and it goes through the authenticator, so my experience was positive. But they look a bit shady, so proceed with caution.
Also i don't really think anyone would counterfeit the rubber that no one really plays with. And for me it looks legit, it feels high...
Glory to aliexpress sales, a was able to get all of this(except visc, it was a trade with a friend). Really excited to try YuanJian Zhantian, probably will write a small report about how it plays
I don't see a lot of information about this blade, and it looks quite interesting. Xu Haidong and Shan Xiaona play with it, so i want to know more. So, who tried this blade? How it plays?
Also I would not recomend you Stiga Dynasty Carbon, I played with that blade and it's definitely not for everyone. And it cost a lot of money. Same with butterfly blades.
When i was transitioning to penhold i tried playing with the same blades what i liked in shakehand and found out that they...
Flexibility and hardness of the blade feels very different with penhold.
Butterfly FZD sALC in shakehand is not that flexible, somewhat soft for koto outer blade, but it feels extremely stable, like solid rock. It is similar to ZJK Alc in that regard, but softer and slower. I would not...
Why you talk as everyone should learn TPB? You can learn RPB directly without taking extra steps. And you will not have any problemes with indecisiveness.
I block with my RPB and it works, not as great as shakehand, but block is more of a last resorte thing for me even with shakehand, it's...
I really don't think that's the case. I transitioned from shakehand to penhold and grasped RPB mechanics quickly.
RPB is not weaker, it's less stable. And for me it's a big difference. I can make more powerfull backhand from mid distance with penhold than with shakehand. Penhold biomechanics...
