  1. Rakza Z and Rakza Z Extra Hard vs Golden Tango PS and Golden Tango

Are the top sheet thicknesses the same? red Looks thinner, I was tempted to say K2 was on the bottom because of this, but really didn’t have a Scoobie!!!
  2. Rakza Z and Rakza Z Extra Hard vs Golden Tango PS and Golden Tango

Haven’t got a clue!!:) Only ever had red GT (Did have a black sheet of GT PS) never tried, owned or seen K2 (Up close).
  3. Rakza Z and Rakza Z Extra Hard vs Golden Tango PS and Golden Tango

Hi NL, Rakza Z (&Z EH) are both very good rubbers, they seem to perform well over time as well, Easier spin with the Z version. Recently I've been using Tau 2 on both wings (the Jekyll & Hyde H52 / H8-80 had to be taken off of the Zhang Jike ALC, had a few encounters with the table when...
  4. Help!!! I'm being bullied!!!

Hi Gozo, For the fast long serves to your elbow or middle, you can 're set' your middle. Watch the serve for timing of impact. just before the ball is struck, move either left or right about 300mm or so. by moving to your right you will be in position to play a BH return, By moving to the left...
  5. Rakza Z and Rakza Z Extra Hard vs Golden Tango PS and Golden Tango

tackiness takes a while to wear off, so you don't really notice much difference, same can be said of many other rubbers. it is a gradual loss. I would say it's easier to use than H3, but, hey it's always down to technique at the end of the day!! As GT is closer to Chinese tacky, its strength is...
  6. Rxton 9 vs Rakza Z

You didn’t say anything about it being too slow, tensor backhand did!! I think that’s why we mentioned that H8-80 isn’t that slow!! I’m playing catch up, I haven’t been overly active on the site recently, so apologies for late reply. H8-80 38 degree on FH, 37 on backhand. Was my preference. RZ...
  7. Contact point on ball

Spin also plays a big part!! if the incoming ball is loaded with topspin then contacting at 2 o’clock with a flat stroke plane and The ball is likely to go over. If you are blocking the a slightly downwards movement is needed. So many variables!!
  8. Contact point on ball

Where the ball is contacted is driven by bat angle and bat orientation. Direction or plane of swing has no real relevance on the contact point.
  9. Rxton 9 vs Rakza Z

I can't comment on the Rxton 9 I have used H8-80 37 degree on my BH un-boosted. I wouldn't class it as 'very slow' but to help soften it up and make it more 'lively' then give it a boost and see how it plays, I have never felt the need to, mind you, I don't like having to go through the boosting...
  10. Rakza Z and Rakza Z Extra Hard vs Golden Tango PS and Golden Tango

I found PK-50 to have very, very good spin levels especially when serving. But when playing FH loops it was (for a player of my ability) somewhat unpredictable!!!
  11. Rakza Z and Rakza Z Extra Hard vs Golden Tango PS and Golden Tango

Ordered a sheet of GT and H8-80 37, looking forward to trying GT on FH, used it on BH mainly in the past!!
  12. Rakza Z and Rakza Z Extra Hard vs Golden Tango PS and Golden Tango

Yeah, of the 2, I feel GT is closer to a Trad Chinese tacky rubber than Rakza Z is.
  13. Rakza Z and Rakza Z Extra Hard vs Golden Tango PS and Golden Tango

I got to re-glue H8-80 and the J&H H52, didn't put any edge tape on and have had a few clips on the table, so the edges of the rubber is coming away. Took off the H8-80, it's NOT boosted but has shrunk a little and really curled up, so need to replace that. I think I'll go with GT on FH and...
  14. San Francisco looking for training partner.

Is the serve deemed to have started as soon as you 'present' the ball?? if you make a fake motion, don't hit the ball, then it could be taken as a serve fault???
  15. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Better watch out !! Carl's secret trap door is gonna swallow you up for too much equipment chat!!!!!
  16. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

the server’s free arm shall be removed from the space between the server’s body and the net. This is to stop 'shielding', which was legal once upon a time!! but taken 'literally', would mean that the servers chest would need to face the opponent and free arm positioned to the side of the players...
  17. Rakza Z successor

Rakza Z carries a little bit more tackiness than a lot of other hybrid rubbers, such as G09C/D09C, Donic Bluegrip C1/C2, Xiom J&H H 52 etc So, moving to one of those or K3 etc SHOULD give you some more speed, depending on the sponge - how springy it is. As NL said if you are not concerned about...
