  1. No umpires in USATT tournaments

I’m not sure about that, any racket sport where serves win matches similar to tennis aren’t great to watch. As soon as someone develops an incredible serve that either isn’t returnable or pops up a 3rd ball, then it’s suddenly not a spectators sport. I understand that Felix and stuff are similar...
  2. No umpires in USATT tournaments

It’s not that I don’t like it, I just don’t see why the US can be more like the UK in terms of having a scorer every match. Makes matches feel more official. Less pressure on the impending nature of the score and its formal. Makes no sense imo but there’s many things to give credit to US...
  3. No umpires in USATT tournaments

Another thing to talk about when you don’t have an umpire is whether it plays on your mind or not. In my opinion, I struggle in a local league match when a place doesn’t have a scoreboard and someone just calls the score because I’m always thinking about whether they said the right thing or not...
  4. No umpires in USATT tournaments

Yes i totally agree as someone who also plays many local league matches in England. I’m a junior so I they aren’t my favorite thing in the world as sometimes in winter, I end up playing 2 a week plus 10+ hours coaching but progression and playing new players is important. Anyway, I feel like...
  5. No umpires in USATT tournaments

Also many people just get taught how to umpire and it’s passed on, everyone knows it’s necessary and so you can’t complain by doing it. Respect is a big thing in Europe around tt therefore everyone does what they are told and tries to make the game as fun and fair as possible. I love this side...
  6. No umpires in USATT tournaments

I have lots of videos where this happens but due to my age, it’s probs not responsible, I’ll try my best to find this in a local league match from someone else but there’s few people in England who actually record
  7. No umpires in USATT tournaments

Scorekeepers/umpires are the same thing in European culture, if you are a scorekeeper then you have the ability to call someone up on an illegal serve, net, time wasting and the score.
  8. No umpires in USATT tournaments

For context, I’ve been watching many videos of USATT tournaments from ratings of 1500-2500 and I’ve noticed that in 90% of the games, there is no umpire. This really surprises me as someone from England who’s been playing almost 7 years and never had a game that didn’t have an umpire. I feel...
  9. Xiom blade handle coming off after 3 weeks

I’m not attacking my sponsor, in fact they are incredibly helpful but I just wonder whether people have encountered problems with xiom blades
  10. Xiom blade handle coming off after 3 weeks

    I’ll definitely ask!!!
  11. Xiom blade handle coming off after 3 weeks

I recently bought an xiom Hugo tmxi pro for about £50-60 as a ‘sponsored’ player and I really like the blade feels really good but after 3 weeks of use, one of the sides of the handle has come off. The same thing happened to my old blade but I’d been using that for 3 years so it was...
  12. Help me choose a BH rubber!!

    Xiom Jekyll and Hyde c52.5
  13. Help me choose a BH rubber!!

Let me guess, it’s custom table tennis? If so then I got sponsored by them and I’m almost the same as you on my Bh but resorted to xiom omega 8. I’ve been using it for a week now and it’s great, 45 degrees and can be used well in all gears. Very light aswell if your into that
  14. Is it better to get a dhs long 5 or a w968 clone?

I’m currently using a Hugo tmxi pro, does it compare well?
  15. Is it better to get a dhs long 5 or a w968 clone?

I’ve always shown interest in the long 5 as a blade due to how it plays when you hit through it from testing. It seems that when you hit hard, that sound is almost magical and it’s soo satisfying!! Although, would it be a better idea to go straight for a w968 clone, something like an xiom an...
  16. Can teens use hard/tacky rubbers

I got sponsored by a partner of xiom so if I would be to use tacky rubbers, it would be something from the c series or omega china
  17. Can teens use hard/tacky rubbers

Thanks for the feedback 🙏🙏🙏 I’m basing usatt rating off of comparisons, I’ve seen much technically worse 14 year olds over 2000 rating than me. Then again, it would be interesting in time to do tournaments over there and see how I compare
  18. Can teens use hard/tacky rubbers

Don’t train enough really. About 15-20 hours a week. My aim really is just to get to a high level in England
  19. Can teens use hard/tacky rubbers

I’m really sorry if my estimate is off, like I say, I don’t live in the us, my rating could be completely different than what I say!
