  1. We need a new rating system for rubber

You need to fix the surfaces where the rubber is glued. Then you can plot the characteristics of outgoing speed at a certain distance depending on the incoming speed and angles of impact. It's quite a fair amount of plots. If you think about that another sheet of the same rubber might behave...
  2. Am in the wrong or is this super annoying to everyone else as well?

There's a Danish pro player that may have a say on this topic 🤣
  3. We need a new rating system for rubber

We also need to define "speed" because as far as I know speed is measured in meters/seconds but in TT we use the term improperly.
  4. all roads lead to Rome...

Even if we go Tenergy since day-1 then we end up EJ-ing to find something Tenegy-equivalent but cheaper.
  5. Xiom Vega Korea Review

Nice marketing, I guess I'll have to wait for Vega Italia. Likely available only in green and red dye with white sponge 🤣
  6. Table tennis shoes, where to buy?

Zalando, Amazon, Decathlon have no shipping fees as long as you spend a minimum amount that is usually less than a good pair of shoes
  7. Table tennis shoes, where to buy?

Tried once yesterday for first time, size is exact (not too large). I found them just fine. I used to use Puma shoes for outdoor running, I guess anything is an improvement :) Unfortunately Mizuno Wave Drive 8 were too large, at least 1.5 or 2 sizes larger than the advertised EU size.
  8. Table tennis shoes, where to buy?

Asics Gel-Rocket 10 is advertised as volleyball shoes. Eventually it's for generic indoor sports.
  9. Table tennis shoes, where to buy?

Just bought at a good price Asics Gel-Rocket 10 (suggested on this forum) on Decathlon website. Zalando was an option, actually bought Mizuno Wave on that but was too large and I sent it back.
  10. Best and fastest rubbers for a beginner

Sure, not saying you must go Mark V. Just saying it's an option that shouldn't be disliked just because grandpa used to use it. If Loki is as good and durable as Mark V, then whatever is fine. But really no shame in using a 60 yo piece of rubber technology.
  11. Best and fastest rubbers for a beginner

No, I meant to say that you're probably not fast enough for today's standards and that isn't ideal in a tournament. However if you're a beginner, training basics most of the time and not participating any competition you may want a "tool" that has the easiest mechanic possible so that you can...
  12. Best and fastest rubbers for a beginner

Difference between Mark V/Sriver and today's equipment is that back in the days they didn't have EJs :D
  13. Best and fastest rubbers for a beginner

As someone who used unboosted Mark V and Sriver L in 40mm era I must say that this post is the most wrong opinion I read on this forum so far. These rubbers are amazingly slow, no catapult at all. Would you play a tournament with those? Probably you shouldn't. Would you use them to learn proper...
  14. Who's your favorite tt retailer?

I have experience of Tees Sports (UK), TT11 (Estonia), spinfactory (Germany), TTplanet (Italy) and VSport (Spain). I'm happy with all of them, no real preference.
  15. Looking for a blade/set up recommendation

If you buy on TT11 they currently have Donic Persson Powerplay at 26 euros (french website) also xiom Vega Europe on discount. I know it's 7ply but very thin blade, I think its even better choice than many 5 ply woods because more stable. Have a look, Koto outer has very good feeling.
  16. Looking for a blade/set up recommendation

I used to own EU version of Primorac and another player at the gym has same in JP version. I found no appreciable difference in flared handle. Also pretty standard size if I compare with Yasaka Sweden Extra or Victas Euro Feeling that I also own.
  17. Looking for a blade/set up recommendation

Same situation as mine when I started recently. I tried different setups. Let me give you same insights that my coach gave me: - No composite materials. Only wood 5 ply is pretty standard choice. - Soft rubbers no less than 42.5 degrees - Blade is more important than rubbers and lasts longer so...
  18. Who's your favorite tt retailer?

I have 2 comments here: 1. If they don't charge VAT is because customs should be charging that on imports. I used to live in Switzerland and I know there's no escape. Do you say you save 9% because customs in your country are not checking all packages? 2. Currency conversion comes at a cost...
  19. Using Computer Vision in Table Tennis

Unfortunately this link is broken could you post another link?
  20. Using Computer Vision in Table Tennis

@OvrChkn like @Tony's Table Tennis said it might also be good idea to train the AI by using videos from pro-players warm ups sessions. Training videos are probably less available, at least with a decent camera angle.
