SYS is definitely one of the best chinese players now. She has beaten LSW two Times in a row and easily took down ishikawa last Time. I take this result as something new coming from Ishikawa. Maybe next Time she can beat some chinese player.

In fact I was expecting mizutani have hard Time against karlsson, he is not good against lefthanders and also with good bh. Karlsson found his Way to keep mizutani in bh and when JM has to play 3 or more balls from BH side he start to have problems.

@apacible Everything could be fine with your analysis if Ito does not meet chinese player in opening round and this can happen as long as china send many players for tournaments.

As someone wrote later there are a lot of chinese players in preliminaries and probably 7 of them advance to main draw. So there is high probability Ito/Ishikawa will have to face on of them. There are also many underrated players like Hayata, Kato and others who can be great danger for top 16...

In japan open first time hayata has quite easy opponents to make it the main draw.

everything depends on your opponent. If he is not good at looping it is quite good idea to serve long, especially with sidespin. But most opponents even weak ones adapt to the serve aftr some time, and finally he will start giving you hard times. Generaly speaking long serve for amateur players...

Do not underestimate Wang Yidi, when I saw her playing ishikawa I did not see much mistakes. Ishikawa wasn't playing bad. Footwork, power and placement make her tough opponent among others CNT members.

timo is playing really poor it should be already 4:0 for yoshimura. Anyway somehow I think he can come back even ot of shape.
