The Blade in the picture looks like a one ply blade but the way it has split isn't anything like my blade when it split, as it seems to have splinters and not broke slightly against the grain of the blade ??

Yes a Western Red Cedar 9mm thick !!! Weight 82 grams a beautiful blade !!!

I assure you it's as good as new and that's 18 years old!!! Mine snapped in a straight line with the grain so was a perfect fit when glued it back together and seriously it was as though it has never split!!!

My blade split in half but luckily it's split with the grain so I glued it back together and has been as good as new have you tried to glue it back together might be worth a try just need some wood glue!!!

My Girlfriend has been using Fastarc G1 for 3 years and her game has come on so much!! She is now playing in our local league and doing really well G1 hasn't got that hard a sponge but it is really durable as a sheet lasts my girlfriend 2 years!!
