  1. Video Footage Safe Thread

Can you please expand a little on what a topspin vs float/dead ball looks like - instinct tells me it’s a more closed bat angle and less lift? It’s something I really struggle with. I’m also keen to explore continual looping vs pips (vs 1 x loop/1 x push) I see many higher level players do this...
  2. Boost Your Level in 2023

Great post, very helpful - thanks.
  3. TTD vs Craig Bryant and USATT rating estimate

Craig Bryant in his prime (a few years back) was at a higher level than most of the TTD players in my opinion. I’ve seen footage of him playing Drinkhall in a very close match and they were fairly similar in level. Louis Price and the Dane have certainly improved a lot lately and look to be a...
  4. Tibhar K3 vs Dignics 09c

K3 and 09C are of a similar style but they don't play quite the same - I like both and can change between them but find K3 to be a little tackier and a little softer feeling in the top sheet so maybe a little easier to play - both great but if you like 09c I would certainly give K3 a try if the...
  5. Best Rubbers for Fan Zhendong ALC

Similar- if you like LGY you’d like FZD
  6. Best Rubbers for Fan Zhendong ALC

    Yes, a little
  7. Best Rubbers for Fan Zhendong ALC

I think they’re very similar, possibly the FZD feels a little more control and the handle gives it a chunkier feel to me. I like both.
  8. Table tennis is the most difficult and frustrating sport I have ever played

I feel your pain - it’s very frustrating when you’re on that journey (as I am too) A lot of it is tightness and tension but it’s also about learning the strokes, timing, positions etc that are required to be a good player but not yet having the consistency or confidence to execute them in...
  9. Best Rubbers for Fan Zhendong ALC

Yes, Boll is by far the crispest and hardest feeling - I liked it for blocking but wasn’t quite good enough to control it unless I was playing super well.
  10. Changing from a Nittaku Acoustic outter carbon to a Hurricane Long 5x

I can offer limited thoughts - I have played an Acoustic 5 ply and also have an HL5 and a 5x. I generally play outer carbon (Viscaria) The 5x is pretty fast - faster than HL5 and faster than the Viscaria too in my view. I very much like the HL5 for its control and touch, whilst also being...
  11. Video Footage Safe Thread

Agreed - that’s a really interesting point on the BH topspin finish!
  12. TableTennisDaily signs partnership with Betterplay.ai

Is OSAI still working - I sent a video in weeks ago and nothing happening despite multiple feedback/contact requests? Betterplay is great but I was keen on the analysis.
  13. Best Rubbers for Fan Zhendong ALC

Funny - of all my outer ALC blades the FZD is the one I like the best, and find to be the best balance of speed, spin and control. I also like the handle a lot..(currently still have Viscaria and LGY but have had Boll and Jike too)
  14. Best Rubbers for Fan Zhendong ALC

It's very similar (as it is to all the outer blades from Butterfly) - I would say that it plays a little softer than a Boll and to me has a better handle, but that's about it.
  15. Viscaria family - FL handle shapes

I have a Viscaria, Lin G and FZD ALC and have also had a Zhang J and Timo B (these were straight) Of the three flared handles they are all fairly similar but all feel different - I would say the FZD & LGY are slightly more comfortable and wider than the Viscaria but the difference is very small.
  16. Tibhar K3 Hybrid and MX-P (And C53)

They’re pretty similar but I found the K3 more friendly and forgiving if I was out of position. C53 might benefit from some boosting (as I think most Andro pros do)
  17. Tibhar K3 Hybrid and MX-P (And C53)

I can’t help much with the MX-P comparison as I have only tried it once - it is not that similar to K3 and to me felt bouncier and less controllable than K3. I have however used both K3 and C53 recently and they are fairly similar in style - I prefer K3 as it feels softer and easier to access...
  18. How Did I Win or Lose a Match?

100% - what a difference it makes! One of my focus areas to achieve this is to make sure I take a wider stance as this automatically pushes me lower and improves stability. I tend to forget in matches and stand tall..
