  1. Acoustic

Review by 'Richie' on item 'Acoustic'

Nittaku acoustic is an allwood blade composed of limba, limba, tung-tree, limba, limba the limba ply being a soft ply makes the blade soft with great feeling. There is some variation in weight, mine is 91g which is a nice balanced weight to me. The amount of vibration is great for me as a...
  2. Why are Evolution rubbers still less popular than tenergy?

Probably because of marketing and many top players use it so it's an attractive product. I use tenergy myself but next time I will try the MX-p rubber and if I like it I'll probably stick to it as it's cheaper. Maybe over time the evolution rubbers will become more popular often these changes...
  3. Looking for a new faster blade

So I couldn't wait any more and got my acoustic almost a week ago, the woman who owned the acoustic that I tried had donic baracuda (max) on the backhand and was selling a brand new one for only £10 and I thought well it's so cheap if I don't like it I'll get something else. Was a bit worried...
  4. Looking for a new faster blade

Unfortunately the woman with the blade didn't turn up today as I was hoping to try it out a bit more before commenting. So from memory of a bit over a week ago.. I felt like it vibrated less than the allround at least which felt good to me. At the moment I felt like it had good feeling, tried...
  5. Chinese Twitter - Weibo

That's his left hand though :P
  6. "Dating Issues" Interview of the 90's TT players of the Chinese National Team

I think you're right that people thinking "the lighter the skintone the better the person" is rubbish and silly.. but keep in mind that that is probably not what she meant and you're taking it the wrong way. It seems to be what she is attracted to which is completely subjective, just like quite...
  7. 12 Year Old Sensation Tomokazu Harimoto Interview!

Looks pretty normal to me, lots of 12 year olds look similar or even more developed. What would you suspect he'd be taking?
  8. Looking for a new faster blade

Yes I saw your suggestion which is also why I posted about it, just wondered if there was anything more to be said about it other than being recommended :P. Like, what are the differences between that and allround or offensive classic, but I guess I can feel that myself if I try it out more...
  9. Rallies Getting Better With The New Ball!

I could be mistaken but I was doing some drills with some of the juniors who are a part of the talent development centre in my city and they were using orange balls, I think they were using the new balls. Next time I'm there I'm going to have to take a picture!
  10. Looking for a new faster blade

Sorry to bring this up again but a japanese woman at my club had the Nittaku Acoustic which I got to play with for a bit and it felt really good. I will try it more either this sunday or the following sunday. Does anyone have any comments on it? Read a fair amount of reviews too. She also gave...
  11. Rallies Getting Better With The New Ball!

I agree, as with anything when you're faced with change I was sceptical and didn't like how the new ball was different. But now that I'm used to it I feel like I wouldn't want to go back. Maybe it's just me but I also feel like I have more control when serving and can get them shorter.
  12. Looking for a new faster blade

I have the Master flare. And Tom, out of the really fast blades I was first interested in, from reading up I liked Liu Shiwen the most.. but I really have no idea how that'd play out.. seems like it'd be too fast for me at least for now.
  13. Looking for a new faster blade

Now I'm really tempted to go with what one would think would be the most logical step to begin with.. to go for the Stiga Offensive Classic, then I know that there will pretty much just be an increase in speed and not that many other things to think about. Even the handle I assume is pretty much...
  14. Looking for a new faster blade

About the primorac, if I can recall you're correct that it felt more dull, probably felt like I got less feedback than from my allround, which I'm not sure if I'm bothered about. I can't really comment on it much, it just felt faster and I felt like I got about the same amount of spin, keep in...
  15. Looking for a new faster blade

I will probably get the new blade with the new rubbers and keep the classic as a back-up. I read one review saying that the Rosewood XO is head heavy with two T05 on it if this might be an issue I'm looking more at the virtuoso and liking the sound of it being a bit softer.. on the other hand if...
  16. Looking for a new faster blade

So many options.. it's going to take me a while to decide. When I'm back at the club I'm going to see if I can find some different blades that I can try out. Some of the blades I've looked at seem to be quite a bit heavier, if I also use a different rubber on my backhand it might add quite a bit...
  17. Looking for a new faster blade

Again, thanks a ton for these really informing posts. I will research the blades a bit more, leaning mainly towards Stiga Rosewood XO at the moment. Other than speed what would be the difference between that and what I'm currently using? What woud be the main difference other than speed with...
  18. Looking for a new faster blade

I'm a pretty aggressive player, as soon as my opponent pushes long I'll loop with my forehand, often block loops on my backhand and will counterloop on my forehand. Not as good at picking up backspin with it my backhand, but it is getting there. In terms of level I don't know how it translates...
  19. Looking for a new faster blade

The player using it is quite a lot below by skill level so it's strange to see him play with it, but he seems to manage. We didn't really do any drills, mainly backhand to forehand, forehand to backhand. blocks felt controlled and loops felt like I needed to put less effort in to produce the...
  20. Looking for a new faster blade

Hmm, as I thought. The setup I'm using at the moment was a big step-up from what I was using before and I felt like I adjusted quickly. As I said, I like the TBS - I feel like I can control it and when I go back to using mine it feels much slower. It'l take me a while before I decide, it'll at...
