  1. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

We have a new player from japan at our club. He loves the game, loves to play with 500 rated players and everyone in general. We're estimating him to be around 2350-2400. He hasn't lost a game let alone match here yet. Saturday he did the most unique serve I have ever seen. Our two best players...

Love this. The better we get the more we can see our own problems. we know what we do wrong and how to treat something differently. I think it's right around the level I'm at where a player can't do the same serve over and over. after I fail at it once I know how to deal with it differently...
  3. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Mentality is rough in this game. Played someone I thought was bad and won 3-0. then they tell me they're 1900. now I struggle to play them knowing they're better. shit who am I kidding? I struggle now because he's obviously good enough to make adjustments.

NCTTA tournament= 1 week from now. USATT tournament = 2 weeks from now. Played today and asked my opponent after losing in the 5th game, if they think I can get to 1800 by the end of the tournament. To which they responded "why do you want to lose your matches?" That felt good.
  8. Balls for training

nittaku j-star feel pretty darn close to nittaku premiums
  9. Boosting rubbers

If you're asking if it's illegal then yea even though they say it's okay, it's not legal. If you're asking if it will damage the rubber in some way, it's possible but lots of people boost tensors.

Haven't been on the forum's as much lately. Question time For U.S. taxpayers! How much do I have to make from table tennis before I can deposit my winnings as income? It would be nice to be able to write off table tennis purchases as a job expense.
  11. What do you do with your spare racket?

I too, let mine slowly degrade :(. I do have a few questions for you to maybe consider. How often do you actually break your paddle. And is it at the beginning of the day when you break it, or near the end where you won't be playing with it anymore anyway. Do you NEED a spare?
  12. Muscle Imbalances

I'd listen to Carl on this one. As a professional yoga instructor, he probably has a bit more insight than all of us saying what you need to do Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This video helped me with my back pain. If you have the patience to watch for 13 minutes you'll be glad you watched it.
  14. League game problem - help pls!

When I'm playing better with more focus, I take my time before serving and letting them serve. If you have thoughts in your head that aren't about the point that's about to happen, hold your hand up and don't let them serve yet. They have to wait for the receiver to be ready before they serve so...

  16. League game problem - help pls!

When you get nervous, instead of trying to relax and forcing that nervousness to go away, use it to your advantage. You have adrenaline pumping through you and deciding to try and suppress it may not be the right choice when you can use it as an asset. I may be wrong about this, but it's helped...
  17. League game problem - help pls!

if you have a training partner you're comfortable with warm up with them, then do a little warmup match type scenario, like this one. "first to score 5 points in a row wins, if you score a point you get to serve." So if your friend starts with the ball and you score against him, you have to...

  19. Need help on blade

I'm going to throw in that if you want to maintain that strong punch block you get a tenor. It's the next in nittakus instrumental series. Same composition as the accoustic, just a bit thicker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Need help on blade

I don't think accoustic is amazing for punch blocks. Although it's certainly good at every aspect of the game, it's best qualities shine when looping. It's flexible with a soft outer ply. Best thing about the blade is the control, it's all wood so you'll develop your strokes better since you're...
