  1. TTDaily Members Show Their True Essence

Woo! So if I get the baseball hall of fame to change their rules on a permanently suspended player joining. And then also go back in time to before his eligibility for nomination timeframe ran out to get him elected as a candidate. Then I can MAYBE be reconsidered as a member. SWEET, I'll hold...
  2. TTDaily Members Show Their True Essence

I first picked up a paddle in late 2012. Yes, I'm still very new to the game. For my first two years of play I was self-taught and obviously had extremely bad habits. My real name is Cameron. I'd prefer to keep my last name out of it, but it's very easy to find and anyone who's actually curious...
  3. TTDaily Members Show Their True Essence

No worries, a big part of mine is going to be table tennis related, but it's definitely a different side that people don't know. Other than a few people, you, Carl,NL, Baal and fellow club mates that are also on the forum Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. TTDaily Members Show Their True Essence

Good thread, I'll post my novel in a couple hours, it's about time I do so anyway. People should know who they're talking to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

what works better than anything else for me, if I can't figure out a good way to return someone's serve, is watch someone else return it. If they return it well, then try to imitate that type of stroke. Don't imitate how they do the stroke, just the type is important. you don't want to go...

ttmonster, are the sidetop/sideunder balls all going long? If so take a half step back, let some more spin die off and play a safer return until you get better feeling for it Are the underspin short and topspin long? If so now you know which ones are under and which ones are top and reading...
  7. Soft Rubber for BH?

no no no, Beat is absolutly much softer than grip, it's hands down the softest rubber I've ever used. I would consider: Beat = Super Soft Grip or fx-p or JP03 = soft EL-p or Tenergy = Medium Mx-p = Hard Hurricane = Super Hard
  8. Soft Rubber for BH?

okay fine, hurricane rubber 38degree. comparing degrees in different brands is like comparing a speed stat of a different brand. If I have a mislabeled grip I'd have to certainly email tabletennis11 because then I'd have 6 sheets mislabeled.
  9. Soft Rubber for BH?

When was the last time you used it? I'd gladly send you an unused, uncut, 1.9 model of that rubber. I think you may change your mind upon trying it again.
  10. Soft Rubber for BH?

Yes I would classify both of them as very soft. With grip you can really feel the ball sink into the porous sponge. I would consider tibhar evolution fx-p soft too, but grip is a bit softer than that. Beat is so soft that it almost feels like mush on occasions and you lose feeling of the...

Actually we have a player that's been recording lately and then studying the film, making spreadsheets for his matches with each opponent. Finding how many points he loses and wins doing different things against different opponents. This guy has obviously been putting the time into improving so...
  12. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Anyone else's club full of players who request that you don't post your videos online? It's not a big deal really, I still get to see my problems and get to know if what I'm actually doing is anywhere near what I think I'm doing. But it would be nice to get other eyes just to show my improvement...
  13. Soft Rubber for BH?

I've had experience with rasant beat, grip, powergrip. Beat and grip are very soft. Loved them both. Topsheets are extremely grippy too, but they die pretty quick. Both are EXCELLENT rubbers for development.

I was wrong about not doing a cross step. Yesterday I found myself doing it a few times in my matches. Unfortunately I also noticed that my stroke comes too early in it. I don't get much body into the stroke, more of the opposite thing that Brett noticed in NL's cross step at the beginning. To...

Headsize is the same. Same amount of alc.
  17. Tactics

Ooo another very important one to note, if you lose around 3 points in a row, for the love of god pause! I don't care if you believe momentum is a real thing or if you think it's some jumbo jumbo. Adrenaline is real. We have a finite amount that we can draw on and it's not easy to draw on...

a blade 3.0mm with wood as soft as an innerforce I could bend and break pretty easily. I think this is the limit to how thin they would be able to make the blade. so from 6.0 to 5.9 we get a blade that's 3% thinner. From 6.0 to 5.5, that's 15% thinner. a blade 15% thinner is pretty damn...

isn't the color of your forehand rubber negligible? why not change it every time you reglue rubber? we like what we like.
  20. My backhand is beyond horrible

shorten the stroke. if it goes into the net, your paddle is too closed for the speed that you're going through the ball and the spin that is on their ball. if something isn't working keep changing it until it works. I can't teach you how to adapt to everyones spin. your angle will be different...
