  1. Shuki Development and Questions

I always play very soft and make thin contact on the majority of my strokes, the majority of his balls were pretty flat which makes it uncomfortable for my soft play. I generally play in hopes of getting a spinny loop to block back soft. I don't really consider my attacks attacks but lot of a...
  2. Shuki Development and Questions

If you can look past the overwhelmingly atrocious grip issue, can you find anything else I should be working on in terms of general form? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Shuki Development and Questions

Glad you came in and watched the video, I had a lot of doubts about my grip restricting my play but in the various threads I talked about it, I only got positive feedback for it. I had a feeling it was something that needed to be fixed but when so many people tell me the grip is fine as long...
  4. Shuki Development and Questions

here's one much shorter thread where I posted a video of myself explaining my grip. and how I'm choked up pretty high. Never saw you in this one, wish you had seen it at the time now. Explaining all the reasons I should change at the time probably could have helped...
  5. Shuki Development and Questions

Yes the grip issue puts a lot of limits on my game. Here is a thread where we talked about my grip. Coach hates it but has worked around it quite a bit. http://www.tabletennisdaily.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?12387-Cocked-Wrist-issue

  7. Shuki Development and Questions

Update: Played poorly tonight, then again, I only played one player in a match. It wasn't that I played that poorly, just missed more shots and my form felt a lot worse than usual. I won 3-0 quite easily, but the player is also only around 1525ish. After the game I mostly did drills for the rest...

Wooooops, went down a bit today, now I'm in a rut haha, time to get back to the peak within 10 days haha. Der_Echte you are quite psychic ;)
  10. everything feels so slow....

you said you were looping and they were blocking, now I'm not sure how consistent your loop is and how amazing your footwork is. But if your loop isn't that consistent, meaning close to the same spin every time for them to block and moderately the same spot. Then they'll be moving you like crazy...
  11. everything feels so slow....

I have trouble gaining speed. I'm too much brush. At least that's what my coach says is one of the reasons behind my lack of speed. The other was not getting in place before my shot which was a bigger reason but still.

unfortunately I'll have to do the opposite. get used to the tournament setting at U1900 which is starting at 9:30am and then reach a good stage in U1700. or possibly reach good stage in both, who knows.

  14. Shuki Development and Questions

Update: I'll be getting my camera on the 24th of this month to record footage of my play for critique and advice. Played today, amazingly compared to usual. Keep in mind these are all player's I've played against before, some on numerous occasions so by no means does it reflect my playing...
  15. Shuki Development and Questions

I did a LOT of drills today with my coach, 2 hours of multiball for me. as well as another 2 just doing other various table tennis activities while helping out in group lessons. Then I left my coaches place to go play at the club and got another 3 hours of play in. Full day, lots of fun. Now...
  16. Shuki Development and Questions

I'm glad it worked for you, today a player was abusing how weak my short forehand was and I started doing backhand flicks all the way over on the forehand side after enough frustration. Worked a few times but the opponent was a good player so seeing that I HAD to return it like this was still an...
  17. "Corkscrew" vs side top loop

I too had a different idea of the definition of axis. Worst part of this is I've aced both my physics classes. I'm better with memorizing formulas and applying them to a word problem than visualizing it I suppose Sent from using Tapatalk
  18. "Corkscrew" vs side top loop

yes.. not a sarcastic yes, but needed at least 5 characters so had a second period.
  19. "Corkscrew" vs side top loop

Arch. you're refering to planes. a ball spinning on vertical plane would be spinning on a horrizontal axis.
  20. Beer pong with a raquet.

So tonight, april first, as a college student I tend to party every once in a while. I brought out my raquet to play beer pong and hit a few in. unfortunately I can't just hit it off my raquet into a cup and had to do a serve to place them in, which included a bounce. Not missing a cup but...
