Used a sheet for about three months (playing once a week) and it still works fine. Edges slightly tored but there are worse rubbers in that regard. Z2 is more similar to Dignics 05 than Tenergy 05.

There was a rubber called Calibra Tour that was kind of weird. A grainy surface with very litte friction.

Hope the thinner sponges are released outside Japan as well.

As stated before - harder rubbers = easier short game. Softer rubbers = easier open ups.

Tried Harimoto ALC and 301 ALC for a few months each. Very similar. The handle of the DHS is extremely small though. And it needs to be sealed. But whatever your decision here, it will not make any difference for winning or losing points.

I think it would be good for the sport if the service part of the game were less pronounced so to speak. If reading serves were made easier. I think it would be more rallies and less crying kids.

Or the rule should be changed so that the umpire always can do that. And of course there must be (perhaps already is) rules regarding the placement of umpires.

For shortgame I think harder rubbers are easier to handle. Rakza 7 and similar are bouncier.

Been playing with tenergy 80, dignics 05 and Nittaku Z2. To me the Z2 is clearly less sensitive to spin and easier for service recieve and such. But it is also slightly harder to generate spin and has a harder over all feel.

The whole body (except maybe legs and head) should be BEHIND the ball. That would be the best rule. Works with one umpire and it wouldn't matter if the players are left- or right handed. It would affect the most common way of serving very much though. But the sport could handle it, I'm sure.

Softer will be easier to open up and drive for most people. Harder will be easier to use in the short game, service receive etc. People, including myself, tend to test rubbers an decide from the active, full strokes. Nothing wrong with that, it is the fun part of playing, but matchplay, when...

I stopped using ESN-rubbers beacause of the sponge sudden death-thing that occurs after couple of months of use. And because most of them are rather heavy. Not using Tenergy either but a big selling point of Butterfly rubbers is their weight and predictable decline. Seems like newer ESN is...

One on the rubber and one on the blade. As thin as possible for the rubber to stick to the blade.

Problem is that the next time you buy a H 8-80 it will be significantly heavier… or lighter…. or about the same weight. Great rubber but poor quality contol.

Sanwei 75 inner does have a slightly longer handle than average but it feels a bit thin. Like Stiga master. Maybe so. But better safe than sorry! 😄

A Viscaria-like handle, just 5 mm longer. That would be great.

This puzzels me quite a bit. Are we really that few? And are my hands really that big? Stiga once made reasonably large (normal!!) flared handles but they stopped. Market is probably smaller than I imagine but really...?
