  1. Simple game-winning hacks that nobody tells you

Recently I have been trying to work on some simple strategies for my biggest point loser: service return. There was another thread about this aspect of the game recently. Biggest takeaway from that for me was focusing on the contact point to try and ascertain the spin. I have added a mental...
  2. Simple game-winning hacks that nobody tells you

There must be some formula that gives the 'true value' of a point, that takes into account the likelihood of a follow-up point after an edge point. Maybe something like: p=k^n/r where k is some number >1. E.g. 1.2 and n is the number of edges scored so far in the match (because frustration...
  3. Need Advice on Dealing with Nervous Tension During Crucial Table Tennis Matches

I am a urologist that specializes in performing vasectomies. I have also had a vasectomy (not performed by myself, of course). A slip up in that environment can be life changing I have never seen as much stress in that environment as I have on a table tennis table ;) Some good advice being...
  4. Blade and Rubber Recommendations Wanted For An Upgrade

    >The blade I also love, the weight feel spot on for me. Not too fast but was a nice step up and I feel I can control with light touch and get a decent pace too. Last time I played an all-wood blade was 25 years ago. It was a pleasant surprise to me how versatile the offensive S was when I...
  5. Blade and Rubber Recommendations Wanted For An Upgrade

@AdamTT ...so, how is the new setup working out?
  6. New all-wood blade recommendations wanted

In regard to comments about the comfort of the handle of the Xiom Offensive S, I suspect that they are referring to the original model? For disambiguation, please refer to: https://www.tabletennisdaily.com/forum/topics/is-xiom-offensive-s-have-two-versions.30645/ The new model is avail from...
  7. New all-wood blade recommendations wanted

Some of the suggestions being given above may not meet your flexible not stiff requirement (e.g. clipper, szocs) while other may have been discontinued (Solo). Falcima is nice feeling blade with some attacking potential, but I would suggest Xiom Offensive S over that blade (it is a 5-ply off-...
  8. Old Nittaku H3

Given recent comments by @Tony's Table Tennis @kungumam and others, I'm just relieved that you're not trying long pips ;)
  9. joke..

Yep At least he didn't have to perform sexual favors. I hate it when that happens ;) If you buy Sanwei equipment, no chores required!
  10. joke..

    Definitely Butterfly
  11. What are the must try composite blades from common Chinese brands such as DHS, Yinhe, SANWEI and Sword?

So I acquiesced! Its similar to my Yinhe Pro Feeling (as you might expect given the composition is basically the same). A bit harder and faster and also a bit more direct.
  12. New member of the Sanwei 75 series, RED arylate carbon. What do you think?

By the Paulownia exclusion principle, the core can't be both tung and kiri ;) (sorry, been watching lots of Big Bang re-runs lately)
  13. Backhand topspin tutorials are useless

Not making assertions here; just expressing my thoughts based on what I have seen and heard... Been trying to follow and understand the conversation so googled wrist supination. That lead me to find the diagram below, which I think is consistent with your @IB66 definition of supination. The...
  14. Should I "upgrade" my all-wood 5-ply Kiso Hinoki?

Thanks @S-Pin that gives some context performance-wise as to how this blade behaves. Would appreciate it if anyone could have a stab at comparing how this blade feels relative to a typical 5-ply hinoki carbon blade such as Gergely etc (my second blade is tmount hinoki ace). I was contemplating...
  15. Backhand topspin tutorials are useless

Is this going to turn into another spraying all over the place scenario?
  16. wide fit shoes

Asics FTW. Currently use Gel-Dedicate 7 for table tennis and some wider ones, GT-1000 E2, for casual wear. The wider ones feel a bit cumbersome for TT where agility is very important, but are comfortable for walking in.
  17. Your Favorite Inner Carbon Blade - SURVEY

Thanks @Spinsanity That blade was not on my radar (just ordered the Sanwei 75 alc inner and am considering the shang kun as well), I will definitely look into it. Cheers, LLS
  18. What do you call this?

When you're ready to play table tennis, put some real rubber on ;) Analogous parody that is disturbingly funny:
  19. Do you have a pro player copycat setup?

@Gozo Aruna You like em chunky!
