  1. Why do inner fibre blades basically just use 2 compositions?

Some websites state that Sanwei 75 uses candlenut wood core rather than ayous. Seems possible. It feels slightly less stiff on contact than my other inner carbons. Candlenut wood is in between kiri (softer) and ayous (harder) in terms of hardness. JOOLA classic carbon also used candlenut wood...
  2. WTT Contender Muscat 2024 28 Oct - 2 Nov

Alright so LSD just played a wild match with Gnanasekaran. Gnanasekaran goes on like a 24-31 point run to put him up 2-0 in games and is up 7-1 in the 3rd game. LSD wins 10 of the next 11 points to win 11-8. Then LSD wins Game 4 11-1. So he went on a 21-2 point streak to tie it up. With that...

If you guys want to see something cool watch Odo dismantle chopper Yang Yiyun in Game 2 (and a few points into Game 3) of their match. Some textbook play against defender in that game. Odo was moving YYY around in all directions and finding the right angles to either jam her up the middle or...
  4. Nittaku New Products 2024

I have a G revision that weighs 88 grams. It's an Inner Carbon but I still remember weighing a few at the store in Tokyo and many of them were under 90 grams.
  5. Nittaku New Products 2024

The original was listed as 90g from the manufacturer too. The weight depends just on the wood, they aim for 90g but they will be off by 10g give or take. For my case, the weight was off by 12g. This is a consistency issue with all manufacturers because the wood has variable density.
  6. Nittaku New Products 2024

I had a 78g Nittaku Acoustic as my first blade. The blade built much of its reputation before the new ball. It's thin and flexy compared to all of the other blades I've used. Personally, I would've liked the new G revision to have added like 0.2-0.3mm in thickness to the core.
  7. How low is your stance (for loops etc)

100%. I used to bend too much at the knees and it was a terrible idea. Footwork becomes slower and robs you of power in shots. For explosive movements, it's better to load and then release energy in a short a time frame as possible. When people want to jump high, they aren't going down to full...
  8. Without rating how to determine a super noob? Not so noob? OB ( Hobby ) player? Serious OB player etc?

I've played against kids with under 500 usatt rating that can do all of those things listed.
  9. Felix the champion

Against Harimoto, my impression is that Felix's balance and fast footwork helps him hold the table and not be out of position. The penhold grip also helps since he can stand pretty much shoulders square to the table and he doesn't need to rotate his body too much, so there's less recovery time...
  10. WTT CHAMPIONS MONTPELLIER

Montpelier Felix really looked unbeatable out there. This is the event to point out to anyone who doubts homecourt advantage.
  11. WTT CHAMPIONS MONTPELLIER

Seriously though, what was that performance by Odo? I watched all her matches in this even and in ATTC and I didn't see any of those crazy BH shots or far behind the table play. Some of the most stylish shots I've seen in the women's game. She must've been in one of those Ping Pong: The...
  12. WTT CHAMPIONS MONTPELLIER

These French fans' reaction to those Odo backhands was one of the best moments of the match lol
  13. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

Just a word of warning to those buying Loki Rxton 9. I've been trying to use the Rxton 9 for the past few weeks but have been disappointed in the performance. The sponge felt rather dead and it was difficult to get any spin out of it. I replaced it with a Jupiter 3 39d sheet. When I removed...
  14. WTT CHAMPIONS MONTPELLIER

Even though the big story is Felix, there were a lot of great moments in the rest of the SF matches. S.Odo continuing her dream run and bringing out more emotion than I've seen out of CIC. I really enjoy the passion coming from CIC recently. Louder cho's and more intensity. She's just looking...
  15. WTT CHAMPIONS MONTPELLIER

That was the most enjoyable day of TT I've watched since I started watching a few years ago. Incredible crowd and atmosphere. Mind blowing result with the hometown hero taking down LSD 4-0. Doesn't get better than this.
  16. WTT CHAMPIONS MONTPELLIER

You would want to compare apples to apples. Only winning 40% on receive is unremarkable for your average player, but it might be well below average for LYJ specifically. I suspect it might be since he is regarded as one of the most dangerous receivers with the best backhand flick. Certainly...
  17. WTT CHAMPIONS MONTPELLIER

Goda must've been secretly taking serve classes too. Got like 3 or 4 aces in that first game alone!
  18. WTT CHAMPIONS MONTPELLIER

Remember after the Olympics when everyone was writing obituaries for Harimoto's career and the future of the German Men's team? Things really turned around pretty sharply since the.
