  1. Low budget blade to my brother

I've played both and like the Fextra 7 better. The U2 is a bit more stiff and direct. Probably goes better with softer rubber. Fextra feels better and I think complements Chinese rubbers by making them feel livelier. The Fextra is more known by people on English speaking forums, so it's a...
  2. Low budget blade to my brother

Sanwei Fextra 5 is under 15 bucks. You can get Rxton 3 Pro (with the dragon on it) for under $10 as a FH rubber. Mercury 2 soft is decent as a BH rubber for the price. But for a little over $10 he can get something like Palio AK47 or Moon 12 Blue.
  3. Playing against long side spin serves

No he's saying to go with the spin. If you go against the spin then the two forces abruptly collide resulting in lack of control. For pendulum serves you want to put a small amount of fade action on it. For reverse (hook, BH, tomahawk) spin you want to use a hooking action. That's for the FH...
  4. Asian Youth Championships 2024

I told you this Sakai kid had anime protagonist vibes. Even makes it to the finals to play an opponent that looks like he's 30 and is twice his size.
  5. WTT Star Contender Bangkok 2024 July 2-7

Is there a specific word for getting 11 points in a row in a game when the score isn't 11-0? Not a bagel for sure at 11-3. But winning all 11 in a row should have its own catchphrase or word.
  6. WTT Star Contender Bangkok 2024 July 2-7

They were down 8-10 in the 3rd too but able to bring that back as well. Good to see that they're able to switch to a higher gear and make some very clutch shots when it really counts. Were you able to check out that Sun Yang match earlier today? That one was definitely worth a watch.
  7. WTT Star Contender Bangkok 2024 July 2-7

Huge opportunity for them and they seem very aware of it. They seem both very anxious and pumped at the same time. Their chos are extra loud today, especially since they are seriously getting tested by the Taiwanese pair. Good match!
  8. Asian Youth Championships 2024

Alright you all need to check out this match between Sun and Sakai. First time tuning into the tournament and I'm pretty sure I was lucky enough to catch the best one. Sakai really giving off anime main protagonist vibes. Visually, he has that the generically soft face. But the main reason is...
  9. Asian Youth Championships 2024

Sun Yang playing now in the QF against a Japanese kid named Yuhi Sakai. Both looking pretty good in a competitive match.
  10. What do you call this BH stroke in English?

When doing multiball at a club I went to in Tokyo, the coach called a FH open up against backspin a "drive" so they got things all backwards compared to most other countries. Loop-drives were just called "fore" there
  11. Friendship 729 battle 3

Woah it's rare to see something truly different when it comes to TT rubber but two different layers of hardness in the same sponge? This is very intriguing stuff!
  12. Samson Dubina sexual assault case

Yes, they were opening themselves up to a defamation case. A newspaper stating that Dubina was found guilty of any sexual crimes when he wasn't is indeed defamation. Because truth is an absolute defense against defamation, then they likely believed that they printed something that wasn't...
  13. Chinese Blade for BD 39 + Yinhe Moon 12

@TensorBackhand might have more knowlegde here but looks like the N301 is similar to W968 but with a koto outer ply. So I would imagine that the Sanwei 75 Inner with koto top ply and a bit more power than the F3 would be more similar to his blade. I would think that a 75 Inner with unboosted...
  14. I think I unlocked the ultimate cheat code for Butterfly rubbers with Spring Sponge X

Hey that's pretty awesome actually. So not only does it legally boost rubbers without chemicals, it also exposes poor glue jobs that may not have been obvious with physical inspection. You're doing a great job of selling this device Igor!
  15. Chinese Blade for BD 39 + Yinhe Moon 12

No I don't but if @TensorBackhand says that F3 is woodier and softer feeling, then I'm thinking it's the less extreme upgrade. The great thing about these blades is that being around $30 you can always try one out for a period to see if you like it and not be out much money if it doesn't suit...
  16. Chinese Blade for BD 39 + Yinhe Moon 12

I went from a Fextra 7 to a 75 Inner about 6 months ago. I didn't notice any decrease in control at all to be honest. The carbon added more higher gears and made the same rubbers feel slightly more catapulty. For someone with a few years of experience, I'd argue that the 75 Inner is even easier...
  17. I am looking for that 'effortless forehand topspin mechanics' tip

Thanks for the answer even though we've now changed the discussion from toes to balls of feet. I can see how going the opposite direction and instructing a person to always be on the balls of their feet would benefit someone who is too flat footed and stationary. But maybe compensatory cues...
  18. I am looking for that 'effortless forehand topspin mechanics' tip

Whats the purpose of that advice, exactly? I can understand it in the context of just moving around since you're going to be more mobile being on the balls of your feet. I also know in the context of stepping into the table it's good to press down on your toes on your front foot for a quicker...
  19. I am looking for that 'effortless forehand topspin mechanics' tip

I disagree with the idea that the foot being flat is not part of the execution. The wind up and loading phase of the technique is part of the execution. And it's clear that he's got his weight on all of his foot on some if not most of the shots. I see that he's transferring weight to his toes...
  20. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

    Moon 12 Blue cut to my blade was 44g for M-, 45g for M+. Rxton 3 Blue/Pink from 2024 was around 47g.
