  1. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

@lodro @TensorBackhand Here's my understanding of aramid, arylate, kevlar, ALC, etc: Aramid fibers = Kevlar (Para-aramid made by Dupont) Liquid-crystal polymer fibers (LCP) = Vectran (made by Kuraray), Arylate (marketing by Butterfly) Aramid fiber + carbon fiber = CarboKev (marketing by...
  2. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

Let's say Loki or any other bargain brand has the exact specs as the W968 and uses the same woods, same ALC, and in the same thicknesses to create a clone. What would make you think that it wouldn't perform the same as a W968?
  3. Saudi Smash 2024

What on earth was that crazy backhand serve she does from the far FH corner? Great weapon to break out at deuce. Is it just a weird tomahawk serve? Sometimes it looks like she's hitting the BH part of the rubber with it, sometime it looks like it's the FH?
  4. Saudi Smash 2024

I watched both matches while they were happening live and I've never seen Drinkhall look better! Even the donkey by Pistej was a good lob right to the end corner of the table and not that easy of a play to make. It was just a bit interesting to see two matches won byhim due to large opponent...
  5. Screwed by AliExpress.... again.

Maybe it's the shipper at fault instead of Aliexpress. I've ordered about 30 times from Ali and haven't had a problem except for once where customs held the item (was a coffee grinder IIRC). With that situation they also marked it as delivered but I opened a dispute with the seller and was refunded.
  6. Saudi Smash 2024

Against Pistej the match point winner was a chance ball that Pistej absolutely whiffed on. Against Rolland it was the missed serve. TT gods looking favorably on Drinkhall so far!

They fit pretty similarly to the Wave Drive. Wave Medal is supposed to be for wider feet but the toebox feels pretty much the same as Wave Drive. I have slightly wide feet. The Wave Kaiserburg has the widest toebox. Both are a bit loose at the ankles so it's not a perfect fit. But the BOA...

Got a Yasaka Resonate AI $80 on sale: and these new Mizuno Wave Medal SP5 BOA system shoes: Haven't used the blade yet but the shoes are great despite being way uglier than my Mizuno Wave Drives. I don't think I'll buy TT shoes with normal laces again if there's a decent BOA shoe available.

  10. Saudi Smash 2024

Does anyone know which countries are showing all 3 tables live without restriction?
  11. Light racket from Butterfly

If you're going to play with Dignics09c from Tenergy05, then you will need to use your body more to hit to get quality out of the ball. If you're doing that, then you either won't notice a few more grams or at the very least the extra weight will encourage you to use your body more.
  12. Saudi Smash 2024

Miwa has to play Akula in the R32 and that's not a done deal at all.
  13. Saudi Smash 2024

Ultimate bad luck for the Kihara and Nagasaki having to play each other in the first round lol. What are the odds the two best bud teammates get drawn against each other?
  14. Using a Blade designed for table tennis - Why isn't everyone making the switch!?

Thanks I had a chance to hold the handles of all Nittaku Tenaly models recently. The Acoustic versions felt a bit thicker and substantial than the non-Acoustic. I'm not sure if that was psychological or actual. They just looked and felt better. Still felt a bit too small, unfortunately.
  15. Advice against annoying style

Maybe reframe it to see it as an opportunity instead of an irritation. I recently started playing an unorthodox player that relies on lobs and fishing shots with lots of side spin. In the beginning I missed a lot of 'easy' high balls due to misreading the spin, being too early, or poor smash...
  16. The Magic TT Wand

I enjoy the process of learning the techniques and wouldn't want a magic wand to just give me the ability. I guess I would wish for a Dragon Ball Z Hyperbolic Time Chamber where I could practice for a few years while time stood still. That way I could still have the experience of improving but...
  17. How much training and how to train to become a professional?

100 pushups, 100 situps, 100 squats, and 10km run every day. 100 hours of TT practice every month.
  18. What sealant do you use?

Which blade was it and what glue did you use? You might be the first report I've seen of it happening.
  19. What sealant do you use?

No but koto is hard enough where it very rarely splinters. You can use wipe on poly on koto as well.
  20. What sealant do you use?

Liquid wipe-on polyurethane works well for me and doesn't change the hardness at all. I use it on my limba blades but don't use it on my koto ones.
