  1. WTT Champions Frankfurt 2023

If you can VPN into an Asian country, it's available on the Spotv Asia channel on YT.
  2. WTT Champions Frankfurt 2023

Speaking of Hayata, that was a very impressive come from behind win against Bernie. Halfway through the 4th set, it looked like sure win for Bernie. Hayata was popping those tomahawk serves up every single time and never had the initiative on receive. In the rallies Bernie was beating her with...
  3. WTT Champions Frankfurt 2023

Seems clear now that Felix Lebrun doesn't just have an impressive mentality for a teenager, but has an impressive mentality even among the best players in the world. Whereas someone like Matsushima can go on 0-11 runs due to getting frustrated and forcing a winner against his opponent (there...
  4. ALC only above semi-pro? or also viable for Intermediates

Have you tried the Sanwei 75 inner or the F3 Pro? I'm interested in purchasing either a Yinhe 05 or Sanwei inner blade during the current Aliexpress deal season but reviews of comparisons for them are sparse.
  5. WTT Champions Frankfurt 2023

Gauzy really is one of the most entertaining players to ever do it. If he were a consistent top 10 fixture instead of mostly bouncing around WR #20-50, he'd likely be much bigger of a fan favorite and a more pronounced 'face of table tennis' type figure. I guess what people find 'entertaining'...
  6. WTT Champions Frankfurt 2023

Almaty feels like yesterday though. And Hayata's win over Miwa there looked like a pretty comfortable one so I'm not sure what sort of changes can occur in a couple of weeks. Maybe they're close enough where a bit more consistency on Miwa's part and/or a sub-par Hayata performance makes things...
  7. WTT Champions Frankfurt 2023

These rallies in this Pitchford/Shinozuka match are absolutely insane.
  8. WTT Champions Frankfurt 2023

Available on Youtube USA vpn but not in Vietnam for me. Looks like this is a heavily blocked event on Youtube, which means that exclusivity rights were purchased by broadcasters in respective markets.
  9. Video Footage Safe Thread

I'm not sure what the rules are about you providing advice in this thread but can you share what your approach was to fixing those technique issues? Did you just focus on one aspect per training session, for example? Was there any specific fix that contributed more to the feeling of grabbing...
  10. Video Footage Safe Thread

This is very helpful. Would the following be a good way to conceptualize the different approaches of hit versus spin (generally speaking): 1. Hitting benefits from short stroke, taking ball later, higher rate of force production, and firmer grip at impact resulting in shorter follow through...

I've just started learning how to BH loop with my new coach. Before this my backhands were mostly just blocks or drives as my previous coach never really taught me the BH loop technique. This is my third session really working on it. I don't want to ingrain any bad technique issues so I'd...
  12. WTT Champions Frankfurt 2023

I know it's a random draw for the unseeded but I don't like how 3 of the top Japanese women have to knock each other out as early as the RO16. Seems like a bad stroke of luck for them
  13. Need Advice on Dealing with Nervous Tension During Crucial Table Tennis Matches

Since people have mentioned breathing techniques, here's one method called the 'phsyiological sigh' There's another technique that a lot of the Asian women's players do (I notice it most with the Japanese, but the Koreans and Chinese do it too) where they do a short audible exhale from...
  14. Advice for table tennis shoes

Kinda gross. Have you tried getting new insoles to put in the shoe? I have a pair of Mizunos that is a size or so too big and I put an additonal insole in there and now it fits pretty well (as well as giving me slightly more cushion).
  15. Need help from Japanese users

Atsui or あつい can either mean hot or thick depending on the Kanji. So hot means thick. Tokuatsu or とく厚 means extra thick. Google translate would've figured this out so whatever auto translate you're using is bad.
  16. Does anybody know any Chinese baldes that are Limba-Limba-ayous-Limba-Limba similar to Korbel and Primorac?

Not exactly what you're looking for, but the Sanwei Fextra is limba-limba-ayous-ayous-ayous-limba-limba. It's a 7 ply but it's thin at 6.0mm and the 3 ayous layers are said to behave like a single core layer, and so it's often remarked that the Fextra is a 7 ply that plays like a 5 ply.
  17. WTT Contender Antalya 2023

Two great singles finals this time. Hayata looks like a nightmare for defenders with her consistency and her ability to switch between spinny loops and flatter FH attacks off the bounce. It's incredible how good Hayata's defensive game too, never being caught off guard when Han Ying switched...
  18. Shouldn't Afghanistan be suspended from ITTF ?

I'm on the fence about this one. Totalitarian states definitely use sports to spread nationalism and maintain the legitimacy of their governments. Russia and China have had elaborate government sponsored and directed doping programs for the Olympics and the IOC has done almost nothing about it...
  19. Good blades under 30 euros on TT11

I'm not as experienced in equipment as a lot of other guys here, but I've played with three popular 5 plies (Nittaku Acoustic, Yasaka Sweden Extra, Donic Appelgren), a '7 ply that plays like a 5 ply' in the Sanwei Fextra (I actually have 3 of them) and a regular thicker and stiff 7 ply in a...
