I am a bad trash talker with club mates. But would never say the same at a tournament or with someone I didn't know. I probably (ok, absolutely) need to tone it down some tho...
I think the main difference in the glue is how easy it is to remove. Outside of a rare bad glue job I see no difference in performance with approved, aqueous table tennis glues. I have not tried all of them however. I like revolution in medium viscosity personally, but only for how easy it is to...
All threads come back around don't they?
I have been on the rakza fan wagon for the last several years. I used many R7 years ago and liked it. The last 2 or 3 years I have been using RZ followed by RX and once RXX came out I have been using RXX max. However I recently got a new R7 sheet (EJ...
I am older now, so no 45 mile bike rides on Saturday morning and table tennis multiball at the club in the afternoon. I think regular exercise of all types is good for everyone. I do not think for example 7 days of table tennis a week is a good idea for most of us (not a pro, so cannot speak to...
Lots of other factors besides the manufacturer to consider. What glue is used, sealing done, how long the rubber is on the blade, care with which one removes the rubber, type of wood, etc, etc.
I bring at least 4 rackets to each tournament. Sometimes I use one. Other times I may use up to 3. BTW, even supposedly the exact same model blade and rubbers may play different. As long as you keep the same racket per match (baring an equipment failure) you are ok. I have no idea about racket...
I would argue that every world ranked player is extremely strong mentally by definition. Now some are stronger than others. But everyone in the top (pick a number, any number) one hundred or two hundred in the world has a mental strength on the next level (tm-but not by me).
There is no doubt that quality varies. I have used cheap quality, good quality and everything in between. Pips just don't break for me. It certainly can be a combination of factors.
There are some players who break pips often. I am not one. In years of LP play I have probably broken one or two-it has been so long that I cannot remember. One player on another board (OOAK) seemed to break pips all the time. It has to be a technique thing.
I hate to contribute to thread drift, but was it actually suggested earlier that Hugo C. would have destroyed Ma Lin if they were to meet and play in their primes? I do hate comparing different eras, but I am not sure how anyone could suggest a good modern player would destroy someone like Ma...
The best thing about LP play is NOT winning. The best thing is having someone with some 300-400 dollar ZLC butterfly blade and two sheets of Dignics 09C tell me that I had an unfair equipment advantage, lol. Or that I didn't beat them, but my 25 dollar sheet of LP did. Or them not recognizing I...
I am a fan of Rakza rubbers. I think of RZ and RZ hard as in a little different category than R7, 9, X and XX. If you wanted something faster but similar to R7 then either R7 max sponge or 9 or X make sense. I don't really like rakza rubbers in 2.0, as I really like to spin the ball more.
