  1. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

I bet there would be an uprising in China if either Matsushima or Harimoto wins this US Smash.
  2. Short Pips Forehand Weaknesses

This might be slightly off topic, but would you fear an SP all-out attacker (even in rallies despite them making considerable errors) or an SP blocker?
  3. Short Pips Forehand Weaknesses

This is when you have the ball under the control. What I mean by the ‘upper hand’, and ‘forced into a defensive position’ is that the opponent manages to execute a high quality third ball attack (with good power) or gets you into a rally. In both cases, the opponent has control of the speed and...
  4. Short Pips Forehand Weaknesses

In an event that the opponent gets an upper hand in the point, is it ideal to execute an all or nothing, rather than blocking with SP?
  5. Short Pips Forehand Weaknesses

To clarify, I do play penhold short pips. The problem is that once forced into a defensive position, it’s impossible to cover the wide forehand side with TPB, which opponents will exploit (or maybe just so happen to direct it there). Forehand blocking isn’t really easy either, especially...
  6. Short Pips Forehand Weaknesses

Is the best solution just to be more aggressive?
  7. Short Pips Forehand Weaknesses

Is there any way to mitigate the lack of effective defence in short pips forehand? Since it’s very easy to lose points when opponents play an aggressive and high quality shot to the forehand (at least from observations of my gameplay and pros as well). The only exception was for Falck in R64...
  8. what happens when you get to THE POINT

Easy. You leave tt for three months. You come back completely washed and get beaten by a short pimples unc, most probably with an illegal serve (but who cares). Then you start to play again to go back to ur initial plateau. Rinse and repeat.
  9. Reverse pendulum vs hook

Yeah, reverse pendulum with side backspin is hard. Especially since without a noticeable push downwards with your body (ie see Timo’s serve), it’s really hard to contact the bottom of the ball. For me, I found that I mentally tell myself to angle my bat similar to a ghost serve. I have no idea...
  10. I want opinions on my chances of pro

I don’t know if this has been suggested to you, but why don’t you look up “table tennis school” in German or other languages? Of course Google won’t give you a good result if you’re asking it in English.
  11. SDC Handmade Blades

I’m actually quite surprised how you describe basswood as quite dead. Does basswood have a variety of densities and types? Since basswood blades such as old DHS 08’s (similar to the one I’m using right now) seem quite dense in structure and rebounds well.
  12. Feedback on backhand topspin

Oh yeah, for your backhand topspin , I agree with the people that said your racket angle is too closed. It’s actually kinda unnoticeable at first, but to open your racket face you could simply rotate your lower arm rather than just completely relying on thumb pressure.
  13. Feedback on backhand topspin

If your arms hurt, blame your technique. If your fingers hurt, THEN blame the racket. A good rule of thumb is to sand when you go on a losing rampage. After you sand to a point, you end up winning satisfactory amounts of your games, or just completely delete the handle.
  14. How to play against good close to the table players?

I guess Adam Bobrow is a fine specimen then.
  15. Hitting the ball with the flat part of pips out rubber

Now you can do Timo Boll forehand loops! I see!
  16. How to play against good close to the table players?

Our sport is for intelligent people 🤣 There’s two ways. 1. You turn into Aruna. 2. You move your opponent around. If your attacks land in the middle of the table consecutively, of course your opponents can hit it wherever they want.
  17. What’s the better glue in your opinion?

The best glue is speed glue. 🤣 Let’s see if Igor replies to this.
  18. How do you make Cpen TPB punch stable?

I don’t know if I’m on the right track, but I found the TPB punch most effective when you apply slight pressure on the backside fingers whilst launching your arm foreward. Does anybody play this stroke often and stable enough? I need some tips. Unfortunately no video for you to show what I’m...
  19. How good is boosted Mercury II medium?

Is it worth it to boost Mercury II medium? It seems like a good way to obtain similar characteristics of a medium-end hybrid rubber for dirt cheap.
  20. An uncommonly discussed shot: The no-spin push

Yeah, I’m just clarifying what I’m trying to articulate, that’s all.
