  1. Call for Awareness and Action | Corruption and Fraud at ITTF/WTT

Keep in mind that he would need to be able to suppress his issues in real life in order to get by. Otherwise he would be unemployable. It wouldn't be difficult to be civilised for a post or two on the internet compared to what he does in real life. Inevitably his issues will be revealed...
  2. Call for Awareness and Action | Corruption and Fraud at ITTF/WTT

There was a guy on all the forums many years ago who started fights like this, trying to rally against the ITTF. He even created his own alternative organisation, created a crappy little forum for it, and created multiple accounts / posts on his own forum to make it seem like he had a following...
  3. Best way to practice 3rd ball attack?

Start with a regular drill, where you know where your training partner will return the ball (long) cross-court. Once you are comfortable with that drill, the next one is to get him to return it down the line. Once you are confortable with those two, you can add some irregular elements to the...
  4. Need help choosing first short pips

Anti is much much slower than pips. If budget is an issue then experimenting with 'alternatives' is not going to be a thing. Get 802-40 35 deg sponge.
  5. Loki Kirin SP/MP/LP - any info?

Ive used W-Alpha (normal 40 deg and 25 deg PZC SP soft sponge) and Attack 8 Super L 41. Both of these are not high spin. The W-Alpha can produce spin when brushing, but without brushing it takes off most of the spin - the pips are very small, but grippy. The sponge will be slower than a tensor...
  6. Beginner JPen blades - what's the YSE of JPens?

For a rounded jpen shape: Try the NITTAKU MIYABI R. Double sided jpen, 9mm. Won't be as head heavy as a completely square shaped blade. It's around 85g, shouldn't be too fast. Alternatively you can try an Armstrong val attack blade with the jpen handle. It comes in square, round, semi-round...
  7. Yay! I am a looper now, so what next?

    8. Yes. I was there too for many years. Using these techniques I was lucky to be a bad div 1 player. The loop that you learn of in forums and youtube tutorials is outdated, or perhaps not optimal is a better description - I will tell you why in a later paragraph. In my opinion, you should...
  8. Let us talk about the mental / psychology aspect of the game.

This is a great, positive outcome. Point 1 is about respecting your opponent, instead of assuming you're better than they are. This is a great attitude. If you don't respect them, then when things don't go your way, you will begin to panic, as self-doubt creeps in about your own abilities. Point...
  9. Best long pip player🇮🇹

Except the player in the video doesn't represent all amateur players, 'amateur' includes a lot of very good players who could probably go pro if they chose that path and train full-time. (No offense intended to OP) He doesn't have power or accuracy, takes the ball late, produces high balls...
  10. Let us talk about the mental / psychology aspect of the game.

A lot of recommendations have been posted in other threads. I suggest searching and reading those threads. What you experience is very common, and there is no simple easy fix. All players have these issues, manifested in different ways. I have previously recommended "Golf beneath the surface"...
  11. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

It's difficult to judge, more or less the same as Telson maybe. It just didn't work well with my blade. It did come in individually wrapped airtight packages and had a smell when opened (unlike the Telson). Even though the sponge is meant to be the same (I think) it's black instead of the red...
  12. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

I tried the Kirin K3 rubber. My first impression is: It's spinless rubbish. Stick to Telson.
  13. How to remove handles from a blade?

I use a chisel + hammer, with the chisel flat against the face of the blade (not across the face if i can help it, but angling to the side to make the least scratches). I tap the chisel to get under the handle. Once it is completely under the handle and if it isn't snapped off yet, I carefully...
  14. Unproper advice by ITTF URC.

How do you know what sponges the factory produces the rubbers with? The ITTF equipment section doesn't list sponges that are approved, as far as I can see. Only topsheets.
  15. Loki Kirin SP/MP/LP - any info?

I saw these too. The problem is that when you want to fine-tune the rubber, you can't. It's only available in one thickness and hardness. This is why I use Armstrong for pips. Massive range of thicknesses and you can usually choose from at least a hard and soft sponge, if not more.
  16. Tibhar H-1-9/Darker Speed 90/Armstrong Compress 5/Miyabi

No. Funnily enough it doesnt damage the top ply of my Chinese carbon-balsa blades that have a 'hinoki' to ply. I guess the price you pay for better quality wood is it being more prone to damage.
  17. Expensive table tennis blades.. why not?

IMO there is almost no difference between all those blades. All 6mm composite that play roughly the same. I think it's all psychological. I've tried many of them and they are always disappointing, all roughly the same feel, speed range, sweet spot (poor) etc. It's likely that the best players in...
  18. Tibhar H-1-9/Darker Speed 90/Armstrong Compress 5/Miyabi

I used to use the armstrong val attack (hence my username) before I customised my own handles. They were multi-ply 7.5mm thick from what I remember. Good feel, sweet spot but only medium speed. I've also used the Tibhar single ply mentioned above, in jpen, and also a Blutenkirsche 1ply jpen. The...
  19. Does rubber cleaners actually damage and shorten the life of rubbers??

I use a microfiber cloth. Extremely cheap and soft on the rubber.
  20. New serve rule 2.6. No hidden balls anymore.

The umpire is always sitting at a side-view to the table. Even in local games. It's very easy to see whether the ball is between the player and the table. If the ball is between the player and the table, how can the player hide the serve? To hide a serve, the player needs a part of his body...
