G-1 is a very very good long lasting rubber. What thickness are you using? Because there is people arguing differences of quality between super-thick & max, I also used both and noted better quality using super-thick sponge.

Using high viscosity glue as other people pointed requires sake the bottle before use, apply thin layers so better use a clean sponge, if you left to dry the glue in the sponge you can't do thin layers so I moisten the sponge with water before use & also benefits to apply thin layers.

Depending the rubber used: for Chinese hard sponge & heavy weigh I used Nittaku Finezip good but expensive, Revolution Nº3 high viscosity good not too expensive and now I'm using DHS Nº15 all 3 are very good, also listened some good comments from Sueke or similar name from Aliexpress but can't...

I'm sorry I misunderstood your post, for me D05 doesn't enough speed as I'm using an 5 plies allwood blade. You are right using fibers blades like I own with D05 it's enough speed.
