  1. Xiom Vega Korea Review

This is the wrong mentality. Blue rubber is for tilting your opponent. It paints you as a rebel, and throws them off when you counter their sad loops with lightning speed and precision. 😂

  3. Nexy Designer's Diary

Finally, a thorough, easy-to-understand explanation of the role of composites in tt blades. Love it! I'd be very interested to know the grittier details like this about the different composite materials; there's a lot of generalizations out there about ALC vs ZLC but they tend to be just...
  4. Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

Hopefully that means 85g is solid enough. I reached out and the heaviest TT11 has available is 86g anyway (FYI to anyone still "shopping").
  5. Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

Finally ordered a HAL from TT11 yesterday. Requested 85g as that's what my current blade is, but I'm hoping I don't regret going that 'heavy' when there are lighter options available. It's still less than my old Viscaria (89g) but I find the weight of my rubbers is creeping up and the elbow is...
  6. Why so much hate against boosters?

Of course. The rubber manufacturers stood to gain a lot more financially from loosening the rules on rubber color than they would a clarification of boosting rules.
  7. Table Tennis Kingdom: WTT will change table tennis. "There's no turning back now."

I personally don't mind the "dark mode" theme at WTT events. It puts focus on the action, and makes it visually distinct from the Olympics and various (super) leagues. I do get the argument that there's a missed opportunity to highlight the local scene in some way, at the very least for the big...
  8. Europe Smash Sweden August 14-24 2025

Never been happier to be wrong. What a match by Truls! Lin Shidong has ice in his veins but Truls showed some real resilience.
  9. Europe Smash Sweden August 14-24 2025

Truls is going to win this 4-0 and lose 4-1 to LSD tomorrow. Truls's style seems to bother the rest of the world but not China. Home court crowd could be factor but it feels like Lin is good at ignoring the noise.
  10. Europe Smash Sweden August 14-24 2025

Time for Gauzy to retire and come play MLTT. 🙃
  11. Europe Smash Sweden August 14-24 2025

Gauzy had a real chance to clinch it in G6 but Wang Hao must have reminded the devil of their deal. LSD has the momentum now.
  12. Has any one heard of peaka pong

https://www.peakapong.com/gameplay Yeah, seems like a niche version of hardbat that someone made up to sell some funky paddles. I'd give it a try, but not when the only way to do so is pay $25 for what looks like a reused paddle that was modified in someone's garage.
  13. Soft Sticky?

Ended up going with Mercury II on both sides (med FH, soft BH). I can tell his shots aren't producing as much lethal topspin, but fewer balls are going long, especially on block. That's what he wanted, so I'd call it a mitigated success...and at less than $20 USD!
  14. Europe Smash Sweden August 14-24 2025

Loved to see all the Hashimoto fans being born in the stands! Even if she ultimately fell, it was a victory for table tennis. 😴 at another all-China final, though...
  15. Europe Smash Sweden August 14-24 2025

This Truls - AJH match has had a lot of entertaining points already
  16. An Jaehyun shoes?

If this is true, I hope the players get better quality. I own a pair of the Sanwei ones and I do not find them to be good shoes. The materials are cheap and not very breathable; the insole offers little support; and the lacing system, while convenient, loosens as you play, requiring constant...
  17. Europe Smash Sweden August 14-24 2025

I just watched the full match, and her forehands are truly unreal. She reminded me of WCQ on that side. It makes you wonder: Did Sabine master the FH to compensate for playing anti on the BH, or did she originally start playing anti on the BH so she could focus all of her energy on using her...
  18. Xiom Hugo Hal from a perspective of a Butterfly ALC User

Sweet, thanks! It actually seems to be about the same size as the handle on my JRE, and my friend's Palio. I'm using a fabric tape measure though so it's hard to say how precise my measurements are in comparison  Do I spy you're using Vega Korea? I just slapped a sheet on my BH and...
  19. Should a beginner-intermediate player play with intermediate equipment or just grow into high level equipment?

D05 can be pretty unforgiving, and I think it's easier to step up in rubber as your level progresses. I found Andro Rasanter R42 to be a great learning rubber for BH. It's got the punch of a tensor when you engage it but it's softer and more controllable while you're nailing down your strokes...
  20. Should a beginner-intermediate player play with intermediate equipment or just grow into high level equipment?

Do you have a coach? That's #1 for becoming a better player. If you're playing casually, get something that you can easily keep the ball on the table with and leave it at that. If you're taking lessons and actually improving your technique...consult your coach. They each have different views on...
