Actually, you know what? Since you asked, I'll upload another video.

check my latest posts. I've posted a few already. Plus there's the one against NextLevel
  3. What are the unwritten rules of table tennis?

Pick up balls for other people. Don't try to end the rally in the warm up.

I generally don't go to NYISC. If I am in Flushing, I'd be playing in Robert's club. As of right now, I'm in college, but thanks for the offer anyways!

    There's three of us!
  6. Doubles - You are Weaker Player - How do You Play?

As a left handed person who has been both the weaker and stronger player before: Communicate: Before the point starts, if you are receiving the serve, tell your partner where you will hit the ball. Even better, ask your partner where he/she wants you to hit the ball. This helps immensely with...
  7. Backhand blocking finally clicked for me

Actually, my backhand blocking stroke looks more normal than I thought. Not too upward. I'm happy. Now I must find the next step to enlightenment (using my body).
  8. Tactics to beat a much stronger player

I lost this game, but it could have gone either way (I've actually made a post before about how I could have one that last point). If you want to beat a player that is better than you, then you first must have something that you can threaten the opponent with, something you can rely on to win...
  9. Good tacky rubber to use unboosted on forehand?

I use skyline 3 neo on my forehand. I've never boosted in my life. And I am told that my forehand loops are really spinny
  10. Backhand blocking finally clicked for me

Oh yeah, I definitely know him. I know he's a solid player. I don't really like travelling far to play though when I can just play in Flushing or something
  11. Backhand blocking finally clicked for me

Is there a link I can use? I can't seem to be able to contact him at all. I don't know how to contact him Although I don't know his real name, I think I know who you're talking about and I have a feeling I've played with him in the lost battlion rec center
  12. Backhand blocking finally clicked for me

My goal for my backhand is to get my backhand to be more powerful than that. As for the videos that you’ve posted: I’ve seen those va long time ago and they are helpful. The blocking one shows me what the block is supposed to look like. As for the looping one, I am mostly looking for...
  13. Backhand blocking finally clicked for me

As of right now, my backhands are like this at 1:10 https://youtu.be/kR9wNuq1Hjc?list=PLuxrTUJBNZ8xD078Oedv1KSi27Cr0P61R&t=70 I swear my backhand used to be better :P But hey, sometimes you have to go backward to go forward. Don't mind my forehand here (I know my technique is a little off)
  14. Backhand blocking finally clicked for me

I think I've tried it at some point. I've had some success with it, but I didn't know if that was the right stroke for it, so I dropped it to return to what I used to do. I guess I'll try it again. It sounds like fun :)
  15. Backhand blocking finally clicked for me

RPB on defense never felt natural at all to me. The only thing that felt natural was an RPB lob, which helped me understand the RPB block. It helped me understand where to position myself and how to time my stroke, and what direction my stroke should go in. I actually don't try to hit on the...
  16. Backhand blocking finally clicked for me

I'll try posting a video. My practice partner likes having me block for his 'forehand loop backhand' drill now, so I can record that on Wednesday. I will admit, there is vertical movement. I just hope that it's not excessive, and that it doesn't become a problem down the line. On the side...
  17. Backhand blocking finally clicked for me

I will make sure that I will not stray away from the One True Path of flat blocking. :) ************** There's one thing that I'd like to add on to. Try holding the paddle with RPB. Now with your paddle 1 foot in front of your chest, try to open your racket. And then try to hit the ball...
  18. Backhand blocking finally clicked for me

I guess I should have been more clear. I play the reverse penhold backhand and I'm not asking for advice (I appreciate it though).
  19. German Open 2017

This is completely correct. Culture and language are very closely related things. Things that are important in a society will likely have more vocabulary words to it (like how the Eskimo-Aleut language has many ways to say 'snow'). One such thing is table tennis in China. I can confirm with...
  20. Backhand blocking finally clicked for me

Don't worry about my rating: say anything you want (internet freedom), as long as it's constructive Thanks for the positioning advice from you and Baal. I'll keep it in mind. Now that I think about it, I probably didn't back off enough initially. I guess when I get into the lobbing mindset, I...
