One scenario could be that one prefers the feel of all wood or the blade is thinner and flexier, which would give insane spin. A fast rubber like Zyre could offset the loss of speed of a setvup like this. It could be incredible, really.

I strongly encourage OP to just find someone with a Viscaria and hit with it. It shouldnt be hard to find one, the rubber may be different but it will give him an idea. Inner alcs are common, too. People are giving good advice but nothing compares to just feeling it yourself

I hit with Zyre and it def lands farther back than 09c. Its a fast, spinny and unforgiving rubber, the arc is lower too, so 09c is "safer" to play imo. What buttefly said and what your experiment showed is my experience.
