Very interesting.. I am also a Vis / outer blade fan and have recently also enjoyed an older Maze and a Freitas. I am now using a Mizutani ZLC which I have also found to be a great blade with slightly more dynamics and feel to it than ALC. Have you used any ZLC carbon blades?

Rozena is more similar to T05 than G1 - just a touch less of everything. G1 to me is harder and less dynamic than T05 or Rozena. Of the two I would suggest Rozena based on what you have said.

He is touching the right side of the ball very gently and so adding a little to my spin in the same axis and direction - I have yet to manage to try the same to this return but instead tend to go against the spin to control it.

Very interesting discussion, which makes a lot of sense. Key is being able to control position of the return when using incoming spin. I play a good level player regularly who uses a very light touch on the side of the ball when returning my pendulum, and it comes back loaded with my spin...

Edit - just seen that this is a zombie thread!! I would recommend the Freitas or a Maze if you want a slower still version (and can find a used one) The Freitas is slightly slower and offers more control than then outer ALC koto blades, and also feels softer.

I notice a lot of these blades are light - lower 80's grams, if this is a design feature this might explain the lack of power. I wonder if anybody has reviewed a heavier one?
