  1. How to preserve tackyness?

There are some old threads outin the world about treating tacky rubber with olive oil (does not say if extra virgin, organic, single source, etc). Sort of like booster for the topsheet instead of the sponge. I may try that on a sheet of Battle 2 when the tacky wears off some more. You may not...
  2. Stiga Arctic Wood Review

This is what you want. The best pips blade a whole lot of money can buy. Get two cause they are fragile. You can run but you can't hide, eventualy you have to have it. https://www.tabletennis11.com/other_eng/darker-speed-90-hinoki-9mm
  3. Stiga Arctic Wood Review

A one day blade? 6mm five-ply wood 'looper's dream' is not usually going to play well with pips.
  4. Advice on BH technique?

These are not SP strokes and you are not getting SP results. Thw bat is too closed and you are swinging from below table height up to your chest. Your partner even blocked a few off the end. With SP hits you would expect him to play in the net. You are basically using your pips like a bad...
  5. Free MOG

Plus the tt equipment makers are going bankrupt. Support the tt economy, free mog.
  6. Is my fast blade a “crutch”?

Changing equipment has costs not only benefits. Changing to a slower blade won't force you to improve your technique, you could just play slower shots. If your mind decides it is time to change your technique it will happen as fast or faster with the blade you are already accustomed to.
  7. Glasses and Table Tennis

I was entirely ignorant of this place. But after a pleasant hour spent on Wikipedia I now know more about Aaland than the average FloridaMan, plus a smidgen of Finnish social history, and a bonus article about Giant's Churches. PingPong forums can be very educational.
  8. From ESN to Sticky Rubber

I play the same kind of game as you, sp bh and close to the table. During Covid I have been trying sone tacky rubber and the best of the few I have tried by far for me is 729 Battle II. The cheap normal version, I haven't tried the fancy prov version. I also hear good things about Sanwei...
  9. SARS-CoVID-2/ CoVID-19/ CoronaVirus: Information Only from Well Informed Members

What about the one and only confirmed case of reinfection with a different strain. Just a freak thing, or not so much?
  10. Wrist pain

Besides rest, putting ice on it is the other obvious, do no harm advice. Sorry if somebody already said.
  11. Linear blades theory??

Ejing isn't futile, it's fun. I'm doing it now with tacky chinese rubbers. Just don't imagine ejing will ever improve your playing level because it will not. But it's still fun. And relatively cheap compared to say, buying a boat.
  12. Does more arc on fh topspin equal more spin.

Depends. It is just that simple. Simple can also be boring. So we don't like simple.
  13. Does more arc on fh topspin equal more spin.

Why don't you get someone to block for you and see if you can make them block off the end. If you can't then your spin sucks with either blade, and vice versa. It isn't the blade making the ball spin.
  14. Dignic09c alternative

Supposed to be some 37° h3 coming out for bh, should last you a year.
  15. Carbon Blades Adaption

None taken. I still use moristo sp bh May was two years and I have zero plans to change. I actually feel like I am beginning to learn how to use them as pips and not weak inverted. A career pips player (speedy on another forum) told me when we played last fall it takes five years to fully...
  16. Carbon Blades Adaption

I don't meet your eight year time, but I played very slow five ply wood for most of six years and then changed to acoustic carbon when i switched my bh to moristo. I hated carbon blades, they felt like a frying pan. I could play with them at the same level, just didn't like the feeling...
  17. What is the tackiest hard-sponge rubber?

Globe 999 is two for $10 on aliexpress and says 44-45°. That is definitely worth a try. Tau II is $36 for one, will save that idea and Bluegrip C1 for later. Thanks all for the suggestions.
  18. What is the tackiest hard-sponge rubber?

I have been trying a few chinese style rubbers, D09c, aibiss, battle II, and PF4. The d09c is neither hard nor tacky and I like it the least of the four. The other three are good to very good. The 49° Battle is by far tackiest, but it's kind of soft and fast. If it exists I'd like to find...
