  1. Stiga DNA Dragon Grip

Recently Sergio made a twin of the current blade I have been using, so rubbers were needed !!!!! EJ bug has settled down somewhat, I've been pretty quite regards trying new rubbers compared to a couple of years ago!! But I couldn't bring myself to slap on Rakza Z/Z EH again!!! Kept the RZ on BH...
  2. Backhand Rubber suggestions

Other options could be - Xiom Vega Euro DF, (As well as the std version) Tibhar Evolution FXS I have used Andro R45, which is a decent rubber, as is R48, of the 2, I would personally go with R48. But if you like a softer feel, then R45 fits that bill better. Currently I have Rakza Z on my BH...
  3. Dilemma with cost-benefit on European vs Chinese rubbers

I haven’t used H8-80 for quite a while now, but I like this rubber, 37 degree on BH and 38 FH (which for many would be too soft) compared to Rakza Z (which I have been using for a while now) it’s slower with a lower throw. Latej, at least give the H8-80 a proper run out!! Give it a few training...
  4. Which one ?- Joola Speed or Butterfly 401 (first post)

Hi Steve, Couldn't find Joola Speed on line here in UK, found Joola Omega speed, which has rubbers listed as black both sides, which would be an issue for competitions!!!! Found the Bty TBC401 easily, this was quoted as having tacky rubbers. so it should be pretty spinny and slower than the...
  5. Backhand flip advice

Hi Wrighty, Nice vid again!! What jumped out at me was that when playing against the slightly longer balls you were taking / hitting the ball almost in your crossover area, in line with the right hand side of your body. when playing against the shorter serves the ball was taken more in front of...
  6. Backhand flip advice

Hi, There were a few cross table!! When stepping in with right foot for the short balls always make sure you recover FULLY to the ready position, its so easy to not recover fully, something I'M GUILTY of when doing this type of routine!!! I can't see your feet to see properly!! Against the...
  7. Backhand flip advice

Hi Wrighty67, in the clip, all balls were going straight down the line, are you intentionally aiming there?
  8. How Did I Win or Lose a Match?

Hi LDM7, When I discussed your opponents receive of your short serve to his FH, ie he generally pushes. So you then know that you are going to get a push return. Your 3rd ball play is going to be vs backspin, so you have 2 basic options, push the 3rd ball, open-up v backspin (depending how...
  9. Hidden serve

Years ago there used to be a service net call judge in Tennis, they would be sitting there with a hand touching the net cord and calling any serves that glanced the net. These judges are long gone!!! replaced by tech that goes straight to the umpire. Hawkeye is used for dodgy line calls, perhaps...
  10. Hidden serve

HIDDEN serve is basically allocated exclusively to FH serves, so ban FH serves, BH only allowed!!!!! yawn, yawn, yawn😴😴🤪
  11. How Did I Win or Lose a Match?

Checkout MHTableTennis on YouTube, He does some great serve tutorials, one of which is “The most Effective Serve in Table Tennis” this will shed light on ‘predictability’ and how or what a ‘good’ serve actually is!!! Enjoy and be well LDM7 !!!
  12. How Did I Win or Lose a Match?

Hi LDM7, great too see you posting some footage of you playing!!! I have watched the vid a few times now, and have a couple of comments that will hopefully be useful, mainly regarding serve tactics. Your opponents receive position, whilst not crowding the table was still close (ish), when he...
  13. Hidden serve

Is there a rule that states something like “ the receiver MUST stand facing the server?? if there isn’t, then the receiver could stand with their back to the server, thus making the existing rule about the receiver being able to see the ball completely redundant and all serves would be illegal...
  14. Hidden serve

    1) Any serve allowed!!!! - Watched a clip once where a couple of the CNT players were mucking about, throwing the ball onto the blade, spinning the ball with their fingers etc perhaps 1 or 2 lucky returns managed to get back onto the table!!!! It was soooo funny, both players were close to...

  17. Where to play in London?

Yeah, great night last night!! Enjoyed it a lot!! Nice to meet up with Brs vvk1 had to prize us off the tables at the end of the evening, literally took the nets down as we were playing!! St Albans is a very historic City, and yeah, next time come for a whole day Brs, visit the sites, grab...
  18. How Did I Win or Lose a Match?

If you are into stats, then the OSAI app may be of assistance, if you have watched some of the TTD team matches, they use the OSAI system to show some stats from a match. I think there is also 1 dedicated video Dan did just about the OSAI system. I've never really looked into it, but it looks...
  19. I Graduated!

Congratulations PBP!!! What's next on the agenda??
  20. Return board

Never used a return board, played against a wall !!! Which sends your spin back at you similar to LP. Play a top spin and return ball is like a chopped ( back spin ) ball. Adding the rubber surface to the RB does actually ‘reverse’ the spin, so returned ball has top spin. Nice!!!
