  1. Blade recommendation for off- to low off carbon blades in penhold

There is so many of them you are probably find one in any brand. Nittaku Acoustic is also dope. I also have Dyjas ultra power but it feels very hollow. 20-30 people in my club use Tibhar Curious, so I can recommend that blindly. Swat is also top selling blade in Japan for nth year in the row. I...
  2. Blade recommendation for off- to low off carbon blades in penhold

Swat or Tibhar Curious. Something 5.9-6mm range. What other all-wood blades have you used? I have a hypothesis that you might think carbon is doing work for you because you are already using very fast 5 ply that is not so flexy and hard (6.1mm).
  3. Blade recommendation for off- to low off carbon blades in penhold

Same boat. VPS V is already fast. Highly recommend trying a thin 7 ply. Good middle ground. Edit. It took me a while to appreciate it after stepping down from carbon. ~2 months 12hrs a week.

  5. Is it necessary to glue the blade and rubber?

welp. I have opposite experience. Yinhe booster-glue torn my limba on Donic Appelgren. That particular example I would not call exactly weak.
  6. Blade recommendation for off- to low off carbon blades in penhold

Welp I had opposite situation. I was using composite blades for 1.5years and now I switched to thin 7 plies. It is much much easier to stabilise strokes, because it is easier to keep the ball one the table. Dima Ovtcharov said in one of his videos (it might have been no.1 review with Dan) that...

  8. Is it necessary to glue the blade and rubber?

I highly suggest putting another layer over yinhe pre glued sheets. They are way too strong.
  9. Is it necessary to glue the blade and rubber?

Welp. Most wtb glues are contact glues. They love each other the most. All official (made by manufacturers) guides were using glue on both surfaces. I suggest doing the same.
  10. how to receive long underspin serve

Show us some footage m8. It will make the job a lot easier. Also what exactly are you trying to achieve? You want to return the ball long underspin? Short underspin? You want to loop it?
  11. Advice to play against 2000+ player?

I would focus on getting the ball where you want exactly on the table and not allowing opponent to smack it.
  12. Advice to play against 2000+ player?

When it comes to loosing to high level players I have a ton of experience :p (one of the kids I play with, fights in WTT this week <3). If you want to improve I suggest iterative approach. Play with the guy and make notes on where exactly you lost points. Work on those areas one by one. (for...
  13. Advice to play against 2000+ player?

And when training your own serves, do train with a towel to ensure consistency.
  14. Advice to play against 2000+ player?

Welp, find a player who is decent server and is training his serves, and ask if you can receive the serves. You can collect the balls to return the favor or smth. Works for me. You can also ask them what spin they are trying to do to improve your reading. There is also an app called table tennis...
  15. Changing from european forehand to chinese issues!

At some point in my TT life I did try that. The biggest hurdles for me was not the swing itself but getting into position, swing and timing at the same time. The crucial thing to making it work was not doing it all the time. For me it was physically expensive.

How many students (roughly) your school has?
  17. How long do rubbers stay grippy for?

I would suggest that you do not replace rubber unless you feel it is necessary. If you rubber feels ok why bother changing just because someone else told you to do so... When your top shit is toast you will hear the top sheet making squeaky noises when you brush and you wheel feel ball...
  18. How long do rubbers stay grippy for?

Mechanical wear I guess. You will notice the difference when you get there when comparing to new sheet.
