I've been there, done that. It is all in the head and hands. Just matter of learning to tamper ones own will to use full brute force on every ball even if you do not have time.

Flex is how much the blade deflects when hitting the ball. TT gearlab measures that with his equipment (albeit does not provide any units to his measurements so...). The 5ply blades we are discussing here are slow and your current blade is reasonably fast. You have issues controlling the blade...

Revspin is driven by users which provide arbitrary numbers based on their current feelings. I would not get caught on numbers. The 5ply will be easier. I am just saying that it's not the flex you are chasing :|

pg5 is lower quality version of hl5. They are pretty darn similar.

BTW. The 5ply will not be that much more flexible than Yasaka SE. https://ttgearlab.com/2019/02/18/dhs-hurricane-long-5-3-overview-lab-test/ TT Gearlab tested the higher version of PG5 and it was pretty darn flexible (even more so than some of the 5plies).

Are you sure you are hitting hard enough the MLC? From my experience those (innerfiber) to stiffen up on hard contact. I would bet that is the closest thing you will get to your unicorn.

It is your own decision. Not mine. I am just bringing some arguments to the table. You have to make the judgment. Yasaka SE, SC, Butterfly Primorac Off- all wood, Chinese 5 plies, are all more than good enough to do the job. The Chinese blades have the worse build quality and are not as smooth...

The Yasaka has much much higher build quality though.

You know that you are chasing a unicorn and chasing opposite factors? If I remember correctly you already were on a 7 ply rampage. I remember you stating to try blades from all kinds of stiffness/flexibility range.

Look in the used market first. A lot of 5 plies are usually on the market. That way you can have your blade for 50% of the cost.

I highly suggest trying to practice what I mentioned in my previous post before pulling the trigger. It is very hard to do the full swing reliably. When I do it, I basically swing tangential to the preferred ball directory.

Sorry for the delayed response, but based on what I experienced is that 7 plies are usually stiffer, and easier to hit with. 5 ply blades tend to be flexy and it is harder to generate power with them. The 7 plies have an opposite property, they are a bit stiffer and it is very easy to hit...
