  1. Building A Table Tennis Tournament App

I'm curious: - Will USATT offer API access for free or will they charge for it? - Are there personal / privacy data regulations you need to address in terms of the data you access and store? (I have no idea, I'm just wondering because USA) - I wonder how AI can be used in the app. ("In your next...
  2. What is most bouncy Chinese rubber in your experience.

Focus III Snipe on a Clipper was very bouncy to me too. I COULD handle it, but there's was no feeling, no pleasure and not fun to play. Didn't like the combo. But Mercury II on Donic Original Senso V1 feels perfect to me (my current blade). Weird. Maybe I'll try the Snipe/Clipper again. I have...
  3. I need a clear answer, when receiving, when does the ball has LESS spin? Off the bounce? Or after it reached its apex?

I had a look at the tennis forums and how they understood angular momentum. It was even more confusing over there. Maybe Trisolarian photons rather than physics at work here.
  4. Modern Sibling of Persson Powerplay???

Hope it's a good fit for you.
  5. Modern Sibling of Persson Powerplay???

Just went to TT11. BL7 is out of stock. Just died a little. But also felt a little free-er.
  6. Modern Sibling of Persson Powerplay???

Thanks for the additional comparison. Really sounds like I'd like the BL7 as well, perhaps even more than PPP. It's extremely irrational of me, but part of the reason for wanting one is the blue colour face! Oh no, I hope the BL7 remains in the market.
  7. I need a clear answer, when receiving, when does the ball has LESS spin? Off the bounce? Or after it reached its apex?

The law of conservation of angular momentum states the following: 1. Rotation will not speed up unless additional force makes it speed up. So the spin will be slower at the apex as compared to immediately after the bounce. Especially since some of the spin is eaten up by contact with the table...
  8. Modern Sibling of Persson Powerplay???

Thanks for this. The PPP is one of my favourite blades. Love it with H3. The BL7 had long been in my shopping list, mainly due to the intriguing review of the Professor at TT11 blog. But if you're right that they're the same, then I can take the BL7 off the list. But you don't mention anything...
  9. My EJ journey hasn't gotten me anywhere until I returned home

I've tried all the rubbers and blades. None of them worked for me. Now I'm on to finding the right TT table that will make me break the 1200 rating. I'm starting with Andro tables. Any reviews on the latest model....? Or should I go for Stiga?
  10. Table tennis Tactics for Thinkers!

Interesting thought exercise. Maybe the book should include chapters like: - My progress history - My thought processes during a game - My tactics - My equipment (20 pages) - My strengths and weaknesses - My favourite accessories (15 pages)
  11. Double Fish Dragon (1, 2, 3) Blades Review by Yogibear

Does the Chinese characters on the blade's face and handle translate to "double fish"?
  12. Do you prefer the old Table Tennis matches over current matches?

Speaking of old matches, I just stumbled across possibly the most painfully boring game I've seen. Unbelievable because they're normally two of the most watchable players (Waldner and Oh Sang Eun) Enjoy (you won't):
  13. Quadri Aruna losing to LP

I also wonder what was going through Manafy's head? Was she being torn between wanting to win and not wanting to embarrass Aruna? I mean this was going to their Youtube channel and seen worldwide.
  14. Quadri Aruna losing to LP

Maybe Dan and TTD team can forward TensorBackhand's helpful post to Aruna senshu. https://www.tabletennisdaily.com/forum/topics/i-finally-won-match-against-my-lp-boss.36270/
  15. Quadri Aruna losing to LP

I feel much of his loss is due to being a gentleman not wanting to trash a lady. He doesn't have anything to prove and just having fun. He surely has faced and beaten males who play with anti-spin.
  16. Revenge of the Hobby Player!

In the scoreboard they have Aruna's name in Japanese: "Aruna senshu". アルナ = Aruna 選手 = 'senshu', an honorific title for professional athletes, instead of 'san'. (I can read katakana but not kanji. I just googled this).
  17. My personal experience with SANWEI NOVA Carbon, and some tips on how to use this blade.

It won't be soon. I'm lining up rewards for myself to motivate me to achieve important personal goals (non TT related). So far the rewards lined up are 3 blades (Nova Carbon, Yinhe Pro 01, Yinhe V 14) plus rubbers. Maybe I can call this "responsible EJing"
  18. My personal experience with SANWEI NOVA Carbon, and some tips on how to use this blade.

It probably describes my play, rather disappointingly, because in my mind I play like Xu Xin. But I don't find carbon blades too fast for me, maybe because I use cheaper unboosted Chinese rubbers almost exclusively (H3, 729FX, Sanwei, Mercury II).
