  1. (Humour) New US rubbers

Oh the possibilities if ESN and DHS ventured in this line of business: tacky, grippy, tensor, pips out, boosted, rubber cleaner, sponge thickness, "ITTF Approved"
  2. (Humour) New US rubbers

Agree. There's no shortage of other forums to discuss and rage about politics. It will only cause division here in TTD. (FWIW, I posted about rubbers...)
  3. Suggested improvements to the WTT YT channel.

I'm convinced the only thing missing is organ music. Once we have that TT will be as popular in the USA as baseball.
  4. (Humour) New US rubbers

Politics can be divisive. I hope my post doesn't cause division as it's meant for light fun.
  5. (Humour) New US rubbers

New rubbers announced: Trump 47 - comes in orange only. The "TRUMP" name occupies 85% of the rubber face. Can only be used by documented players. Kamala 47 - makes a unique cackling sound. Can only be used for pre-arranged games. Perfect replacement rubber when your Biden 46 rubber wears out...
  6. Suggested improvements to the WTT YT channel.

Some in the audience might run away with the equipment. :-)
  7. Suggested improvements to the WTT YT channel.

The online viewers should be allowed to inspect the players equipment.
  8. What are the unwritten rules of table tennis?

Practiced by Harimoto, it's ok to scream as long as you politely do it by facing away from your opponent.
  9. Difference between sticky rubbers and non-sticky rubbers

What's the physics behind why a 'sticky' rubber would generate more spin than a grippy rubber? I mean, if I try to rub a ball against either, there is no 'give', the ball doesn't slide. So in theory if the racket skims the surface of the ball at the same velocity, they should rotate the ball...
  10. Funny / Odd - Yasaka products on Donic website

My blades are mostly Donics and Yasakas. Maybe just my imagination, but to me they have "feel characteristics" unique to their brand (in that a Yasaka feels like a Yasaka and doesn't feel like a Donic and vice versa). I like them both. It feels strange that my copies are likely made by the same...
  11. Funny / Odd - Yasaka products on Donic website

I went to the donic website (donic.com/en). Absentmindedly I searched for Ma Lin Carbon (a Yasaka product for those who don't know). Surprisingly, several Yasaka products showed up. I tried searching for "yasaka" and lots more Yasaka products showed up. Why could this be?
  12. Is the total blade count in the world just constantly going up?

If they broke down imagine how much "carbon" emission they'd produce...
  13. Service Openings and Combinations

Mon That's always been in my toolbox. Didn't know it had a name!
  14. Service Openings and Combinations

So in chess, there's several well known openings, such as Ruy Lopez, Queen Gambit, etc. They all have specific aims (eg dominate centre squares) and have proven to be better than just random openings. What do you think about how that is applicable to TT? Give names to common effective...
  15. Short Pips both sides...

Something on the topic of double short pips has been discussed a few years ago. https://www.tabletennisdaily.com/forum/topics/double-short-pips.24901/
  16. A Person versed of Table Tennis Rules is wanted.

I suggest it is a let. 2.9 A LET 2.9.1 The rally shall be a let: 2.9.1.1 if in service the ball touches the net assembly, provided the service is otherwise correct or the ball is obstructed by the receiver or his or her partner; OTOH if it was a ghost serve by Ma Lin and the ball goes into the...
  17. Recommend me a Hinoki Blade!

I like Donic Waldner Legend Carbon. Stiff (not flexible) because of the carbon but soft impact feel because hinoki. I have Friendship 729 Super FX on both sides. PS Only the top ply is hinoki, but it still feels hinoki to me.
  18. New serve rule 2.6. No hidden balls anymore.

"When the ball is struck it shall be within the space between the server's end line and server's body other than leg and head." Yoshimura strikes the ball between the end line and his face. According to the rule that will remain valid. We'll all learn to be Yoshimuras.
  19. Where to buy Andro?

TT11 is a scam. They trick you with great prices, great service, and genuine products so you become addicted and never look at any other shop.
