  1. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

No there isn't any answer other than a million reps with the new style.
  2. Save the Rainforest

If you want to live sustainably and save the planet as we know it there is only one simple thing you need to do -- have zero children, or at most one. Then you can eat and drive and fly as much as you want, and even use rare ancient trees to make pingpong paddles, because you have done the one...
  3. What is Table Tennis England Doing?

I'm not sure why you still use paper reporting for tournament results. The US is quite backwards as a TT country but almost all tournaments now use software and results are on the USATT site often the Monday or Tuesday following the event. Smart TDs also have a monitor in the hall where...
  4. First Bat Advice please

There are a million choices that make it seem very complicated. But if you want you can break it down into simpler categories. Fast bat vs slow bat - everyone who has posted agrees you should get a pretty slow bat. Any of the 20 or so mentioned already will be fine. It doesn't make much...
  5. Tenergy for "BEGINNER"

Tenergy is fine for a beginner, especially one who is getting coaching. The longer you use the same rubber (and blade too) the more adapted you will get to that setup. So the idea that you start with somethig slow, and every so often change doesn't make a ton of sense. Little coached kids...
  6. Coaching Adult Learners

Why does it have to be an adult training camp? There are a number of clubs that have summer camps that are all or mostly kids, but adults can join too. MDTTC may be the closest to you. I spent two weeks there in August 2014 and had a great time. One week I was the only grown-up (45 and the...
  7. Neuromuscular compatibility in tabletennis !

One thing you can try is slowing down the exercise until it is so easy that you can do it and still be relaxed. That may be so slow you feel stupid, like it is ridiculous. But if you only increase the speed a little at a time so that you can still be relaxed, after a while you may work up to...
  8. 80FX or 05FX hmmm......

If you like regular 05 then just go to 05fx. It's a tad softer. I used 80-fx on both sides for a while and it's a good rubber too. The difference is so slight it won't matter at all. The change from regular sponge to fx is much more noticeable than the change from 05 to 80.
  9. Coaching Adult Learners

Convince them to use video in their training. People who don't watch themselves train and play think they are doing stuff completely different from what they are actually doing.
  10. Need Suggestions for all wood blade with Tenergy05

Okay, I'll take your word for that.
  11. Need Suggestions for all wood blade with Tenergy05

I get a very low throw using t05 on a yasaka sweden classic. They are $28 on tt11 rght now, so maybe that doesn't meet your minimum price requirement. And they are limba outer not hinoki. But a thin looping blade with low throw for sure. The ST handle is very rectangular, which I love, you...
  12. Difference between 2.15 and 2.2mm

If you don't boost get the 2.2. If you boost and don't play events where your equipment gets inspected buy the 2.2. If you are playing serious events and you boost buy the 2.15.
  13. Should I Upgrade?

It's about the most common blade in the world, can't you borrow someone else's tb alc with tenergy on and hit with it? Then you could decide if it is worth buying with some personal experience.
  14. Using Chinese rubbers for the first time

What about the TG3-60? Supposed to be a softer sponge with same topsheet, would that be an option for trying out chinese rubber on fh?
  15. Fair handicap for men and women?

I think Carl is wrong about tennis. Put a top college player against Serena Williams or another top 5 woman and I think she would mop the court with him. If you re-created pro pressure with a big crowd and money then it could be double bagels. Same thing with DN vs a top 100 man. I'm not...
  16. Rozena vs Mantra

This is a great post about the value of reviews. I would just add that the type of players who try a new rubber when it is first released are not likely to stick with it, or with anything. They will move on to try the next new rubber. The only rubbers big percentages of players seem to...
  17. Help deciding on parts for a new bat

Don't change the rubbers and blade at the same time. You will not know which one contributed what to the different feel of the new bat. You can put new rubbers on your OC, see how you like them compared to MkV, and then move them to another blade if you decide to buy one. All you need is some...
  18. Training drill for first 5 shots

It's an interesting idea, but it might be more effective to identify specific patterns where you are not happy with your reaction and choose a drill to replicate the pattern. Like if you push lots of long serves, and wish you didn't, just have someone serve long at you over and over and you...
  19. Disappointing entry to Juniors Tournament in England

Did you ask the players or their parents who played your 1st event and not the 2nd, why they didn't come back?
