Good win for Miyu Nagasaki over China's Yao Ruixuan. Five Japanese women in the QF: Miwa, Hayata, Odo, Yokoi, Nagasaki.
  2. WTT Contender Tunis 2025 Apr 22-27

Interesting how Yangzi Liu easily (8,4,7) beat Ece Harac, the player who beat Miyuu Kihara.
  3. WTT Contender Tunis 2025 Apr 22-27

    Uda knocked out in R32
  4. WTT Contender Tunis 2025 Apr 22-27

    Brazil beats China *again*.
  5. WTT Contender Tunis 2025 Apr 22-27

Great win for Anne Uesawa beating China's young prodigy Zhu Qihui who beat YYT.
  6. United Table Tennis Players Association

FWIW, I think a players union can effect change for the better. IIRC Quadri Aruna was vocal and stood up for himself and won his arbitration with WTT. Better than doing nothing and just hoping for the change they want.
  7. WTT Contender Tunis 2025 Apr 22-27

A bright spot for the CNT was on the women's side. Zhu Qihui, just 13 years old but with a silky smooth FH and strong serves, beat Yeh Yi-Tian 3-1. Miwa will need to keep an eye on her in a few years.
  8. WTT Contender Tunis 2025 Apr 22-27

Lilian Bardet also beat Sun Yang so SY does not make it to the main draw.
  9. United Table Tennis Players Association

Would be interesting to know who the current members are. https://unitedtabletennisplayers.com/
  10. Best ever Pro players' statistics

Wang Nan should be on the list.
  11. WTT Contender Tunis 2025 Apr 22-27

If Kihara plays to her #4 seeding and makes the SF, she will have enough points to surpass Hirano (who is currently ahead by 40 pts). Hirano will then need to make at least R16 at the WTTC to surpass Kihara. Hirano is fully capable of course, but there's a lot of dangerous players at the WTTC...
  12. ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025, 4/14-20

Hugo's World Cup title should put his ranking points at 4575 next week Tueseday. This is currently below Tomo's 4725; however, Tomo has expiring points which will drop his ranking points to 4550. Thus, Hugo should end up WR#3 and Tomo WR#4. Exciting times.
  13. ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025, 4/14-20

This is historic. To beat China in China (okay, Macau but practically China) at a World Cup with the CNT coaches and players sitting courtside is just amazing. And now with the World Championship less than a month away, CNT will be scrambling to come up with a solution for Hugo. I am so...
  14. ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025, 4/14-20

I know it's only one match, and I really shouldn't be looking so far ahead. But it's tantalizing to think about is it possible that a 32 year old in 2028 Hugo Calderano become Olympic TT champion? He's obviously worked so hard to overcome his weaknesses, and his emotions poured out in the...
  15. ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025, 4/14-20

The beast has been unleashed !!!!!! HUGO !!! HUGO !!! HUGO !!!
  16. ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025, 4/14-20

Hugo's beast mode FH! LSD doesn't know what to do. Hope Hugo can keep it up.
  17. ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025, 4/14-20

Deeper Hugo can push LSD off the table the better. Even though LSD is quite good from off table, percentage wise it will favor Hugo who can also hold his own off table. Wider angles will also favor Hugo as LSD is not tall for a male player. Even though Hugo's short game has improved...
  18. ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025, 4/14-20

Nothing against LSD, but I'd love to see Hugo win this.
  19. ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025, 4/14-20

Everyone has a weakness. Tomo beat him at WTT Finals Fukuoka. Felix beat him 4-0 at WTT Champions Montpelier. Odds are against Hugo, but he's played amazing so far.
