  1. Best equipment for offensive player.

IMHO, Ragza 7 is too hard for someone who has not played for 10 years. Something like Xiom Vega Europe is much easier to get back in the game with.
  2. Best equipment for offensive player.

Depends on how good you where 10 years ago, and just how rusty your TT skills are now. Why not asking some players at a TT club to play with their bats, ideally, some one same level as you're now, in order to get a feel at what you like and what you don't like?
  3. Ma Long's chop block

Ma Lin was even better at this type of shot - the look of bewilderment on the opponent's faces was priceless. IMHO, Ma Long tends to make this shot when two conditions are true: * the opponent makes a slow spinny, relatively shallow, topspin shot into ML's BH * ML himself is out of position -...
  4. Best rubbers for plastic Ball

I've tried Tibhar MX-P (medium hard), DHS Hurricane 3 Neo (medium hard) and Tibhar 5q vip with the new ball - all seemed to perform quite adequately with the new ball. My opponents used Tenergy 05 and Xiom Omega IV Asia, and did not complain about their rubber's performance either.
  5. Best rubbers for plastic Ball

Just keep playing with what you've got. There is absolutely no need to change your equipment - it is simply a marketing ploy by TT manufacturers to get you to part with money.
  6. Stiga ITTF Approved Plastic/Poly Ball Review

    Yup, from bribar.
  7. Stiga ITTF Approved Plastic/Poly Ball Review

Yup, I wrote the above on mytt.net. IMHO, all these prophesies of doom that accompany some of the other reviews are largely unfounded.
  8. Question about the reverse pendulum

Assuming you are right-handed and serve from the left corner: Try beginning the serve by snapping your wrist away from your body and almost parallel to the table as opposed to towards the body and upwards. Then uncoil the wrist towards the net again almost parallel to the table and brush under...
  9. Question about the reverse pendulum

It is relatively rare as compared with the regular FH pendulum serve. Because of this the variations of spin on this serve are more difficult to read. Plus the sidespin naturally takes the ball to the server's FH.
  10. Need help with blade choice.

Which blade and what rubber thickness? A lot of players, pros and amateurs, play with off- blades and don't lack power away from the table. Have a chat with a coach - perhaps a simple small change in your looping technique will bring about the desired effect without sacrificing the control and...
  11. adidas strike carbon

The quote seems to originate from yogibear's post on mytt.net.
  12. Keep or Replacement blade?

If it still suits your style, there is absolutely no need to change the blade.
  13. Slo-mo demo: Forehand spinny loop

IMHO, the speed at which the underpin ball travels over the table is less important than the amount of underspin on the ball - you just need to get into position faster. Looping heavy underspin generally requires faster and more upward motion than looping mild underspin.
  14. Slo-mo demo: Forehand spinny loop

Of course one can loop even heavy underspin balls. Here is a great example:
  15. New site layout

Looks weird in Google Chrome and Firefox on both Windows and Linux - the spacing between post titles in the Latest Posts section is too wide.
  16. Korea Open 2014 - Videos -

Thanks for the videos, MrThePortal - I'm enjoying ITTF's youtube channel much more since you took it over :-)
  17. Butterfly TB ALC,Viscaria,TBS

Depends on what type of feel and handle shape you prefer. These blades are relatively similar. Viscaria has probably the softest feel of the three. Many people say that Timo Boll ALC is somewhat more balanced than the TBS as far as weight distribution is concerned. Many others say that TBS has...
  18. No spin in serves

Probably not enough brushing, and thus the contact with the ball is too solid. Stop trying to generate a lot of spin with your current serve motions, and concentrate instead on barely grazing the ball with the topsheet (and not the sponge!!!), making sure that the contact point is as far away...
  19. Anyone used an Adidas Blade?

I've got an Adidas Hypertouch (with Adidas Tenzone Ultra on FH/BH) as my backup bat. Blade has perfect workmanship, plays and feels kinda like a BTY Viscaria. Basically, it is quality stuff.
  20. Hardest tensor rubber

Oh yeah, Xiom Tau feels like a brick when playing.
