  4. Backhand change Dignics 05 to 09c or.....

In terms of tackiness D09C is only slightly tacky, if you were rating it scale 0 -10, with a rubber like MXP which has no tackiness and would therefore be a 0 D09C would be a 2 at the most. The sheet of Std H3 I have would be a 7 or so. D09C still has a ‘dull’ feel with soft shots, but when you...
  5. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Possibly, it's the venue sizes that seem to be the main issue. I think that there maybe minimum space / area / volume stipulations. A lot of the 'national leagues' like the one the TTD Team play in would have to be re-formatted because they seem to hold the matches over a weekend at one venue...
  6. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

So after a really good evening last night, I find myself waking up to the news that from Monday all social gatherings of more than 6 people indoors and outdoors are once again banned in England. So, at best the training sessions will be reduced to 6 players, could be worse!!!! UK's infection...

Tonight was the 2nd time I’ve been able to play!!! The training / coaching sessions that I used to go to before COVID lockdown kicked in have restarted:):) tonight it was free play!!!!! no coaching!!!! matches against each other for the last 30 mins, it felt like a celebration of just being...
  8. Bigger headed blades (160x152)

If you like the Baum Esprit, then stick with it!! larger head sizes on blades are usually more common for defensive blades. So choice of larger sized attacking blades may be more limited. Other than that it's get used to playing with a blade with a smaller head size, but with the other...
  9. Joola Golden Tango and Tango PS

Hi, I have boosted H3 provincial but 37 degrees, boosted 2 layers glue plus 2 layers Seamoon. GT unboosted feels harder, less catapult, speed seems slower (I use it on BH) spin for both are comparable, I did try the GT on forehand and it’s just as fast as the H3, which contradicts when I said...
  10. Rubbers with GOOD feeling/touch/feedback

Hi, Boosted H3 prov 37 degrees feels much softer than the unboosted GT. It also has a lot more catapult. I can really feel the ball engaging the sponge, but I quite like the hard feel of GT, I also find that D09C feels harder than the H3 37 degree and softer than the GT. I was using the...
  11. What's the cause of overshooting ?

You're right about it being more difficult to move backwards, re-set and execute a shot but I think that a good length ball is one that causes an opponent trouble wherever it lands on the table!!!! This depends on where the opponent is / isn't and this is where the shorter ball comes into play...
  12. Hi I am a new forum member! Actually a born again forum member!

My partner looks at my exploits with a bemused and disbelieving expression when preparing a blade for gluing on some new rubbers or recently when i've tried boosting a rubber, she looks away shaking her head and gets on with watching her favourite TV Programmes or knitting!!! she has never...
  13. Rubbers with GOOD feeling/touch/feedback

blade is more important for feeling, touch etc 1) The boosted sheet of H3 Provincial 37 degree hardness i have has really great feel. 1st time I hit a BH topspin it just jumped out at me how much dwell time there is. 2) Golden Tango also good feel, for me better than the PS version. 3) Donic...
  14. Are tournaments and leagues running in your Country?

Had some more feedback about the local leagues / clubs I play in for, SHAW league - looking like no matches until 2021!! They are looking at 2 man teams, venue size is a real issue regarding social distancing. One club - venue is good regarding size an ability to social distance, but the...

  17. What's the cause of overshooting ?

Hi Carl, just about to suggest the Korbut, SK 7 or Boll performance.
  18. What's the cause of overshooting ?

I had a similar problem when I tried the DHS long 5 blade, too fast for me, but still a pussy cat compared to the old Tamca 5000 blades I used 30yrs ago, rubbers were not as fast little catapult then though!!!! A slightly faster blade may be suited for you, but maybe stick to all wood first...
  19. Looking for advices on forehand

Hi, far from my own FH being perfect, heavy feet, poor movement and more!! After viewing myself the lower body legs etc is very important. So if you can get some footage showing whole body, as everyone else has said. That would be good. 1 thing I noticed is that your right shoulder doesn’t dip...
  20. What's the cause of overshooting ?

Do you think that the change of blade has given Better control, less speed, better feel ?? Are you using the same rubbers that you were using on the Viscaria?? I suppose that this is the actually important as far as the change of blade is concerned. If you have changed rubbers as well, how...
