  1. Dignics 09c vs hurricane 3

Hi, what rubber was he using? std H3? H3 provincial? ........? Red sheet so it wasn’t H3 Nat blue sponge. Do you know whether it was boosted? he has a very nice compact action with excellent wrist snap!!
  2. Dignics 09c vs hurricane 3

I completely got the wrong end of the stick, rigged up a couple of surgical masks as a blindfold, started the review and slipped on the blindfold, didn’t have a scooby which rubber was being used !!!!!:(:(
  3. Need Equipment Help

Hi Carl, please ensure you use a ‘state of the art’ glue, apparently NASA may have some spare after completion of recent repairs to the space shuttle’s tiles, cost however is astronomical, but I’m sure that won’t deter you. Another bonus of getting in with NASA is that they would undoubtedly be...

if you’re going to lick the sponge and blade you should only do so after drinking from 2 possible sources 1) the holy grail or 2) the fountain of youth. the holy grail water will bring any dead rubber back to life and neither blade or rubber will age or fall foul of oxidisation. where as...
  5. New Butterfly Rubber Aibis

Hi again, on the website check Aibiss again - also click ‘additional information’ technology - NO try 09C additional info - technology- high tension/spring sponge. i don’t think that it has spring sponge.
  6. New Butterfly Rubber Aibis

Hi, apologies, the website does say application of spring sponge technology, but believe me, it’s not spring sponge like Spin Art, it maybe because the sponge is so hard? But this sponge top sheet combination is really very dead in comparison.
  7. New Butterfly Rubber Aibis

Nothing like each other!!! Aibiss is slightly tackier, sponge is harder and a standard sponge, no spring sponge properties, therefore Aibiss is a lot slower. Aibiss is like a traditional Chinese tacky rubber. Spin Art and D09C are barely tacky, and have spring sponge and spring sponge x which...
  8. New Butterfly Rubber Aibis

Yeah, I think you’re right, also did a sheet of H3 Nat blue sponge, with 3 layers of booster, this was very disappointing, didn’t really dome up, sheet felt limper in feel. No real difference in performance.
  9. 1.9 or max on forehand!!

Hi MOG, I have a sheet of T80FX max, and I just found it too bouncy, so I stopped playing with it. Also used MXP and a few other tensors in max, but on defensive blades and found it easier to play with these rubbers, speed was still plenty fast enough when attacking. Then tried putting these on...
  10. New Butterfly Rubber Aibis

Glued it on today. booster has worked, more bounce on the bounce test, slightly faster, spin the same, slightly easier to use, but compared to a red sheet of H3 (std) that I boosted at the start of lockdown, the boost effect seems less on the Aibiss. This is probably down to the fact that the...
  11. 1.9 or max on forehand!!

Hi, I would now go with 1.9 or 2.0mm with the spring / ESN sponges, rather than max. I have used max in the past quite a lot, with MXP, MXS, etc etc found them ok but wanted a little more control, so now stepped down in sponge thickness, speed is still good. with the harder sponges / tacky top...
  12. MOG's D09c Thread: Now Closed

Butterfly always have been and always will be expensive, nothing has changed there over the years!!!! DHS don’t need to be, as they have a massive Chinese market behind them, but a sheet of H3 Nat blue sponge is around the same price or more expensive than Dignics depending on where you buy it...

I’m such a tart!!! I’ve got 2 sheets now!!! Tackiness is still Butterfly’s most tacky rubber, and probably has been for near on 40yrs!!!! i think D09C is a beefy version of Spin Art. Bit quicker, more springy.
  14. MOG's D09c Thread: Now Closed

compared to the sheet of standard H3 I have NO, compared to the 2 sheets of H3 Nat blue sponge I have, the same, they both pick up the ball for a fraction of a second. Compared to battle 2 and battle 2 provisional NO i do have a sheet of Big Dipper but can’t remember how tacky it...

it ain’t what I call tacky;);)
  16. New Butterfly Rubber Aibis

No more booster applied, just couldn’t squeeze it into the bottle!!!!
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Hi, the thing with better players is that they can be more comfortable playing at a variety of different paces, and remembering Timo Boll talking about variety (when he did a review with Dan, mainly on serves) but it also applies to general play, is a variety of pace , spin , placement etc...
  18. New Butterfly Rubber Aibis

Aibiss after 2nd coat of Falco long term booster applied. I’m going to apply 1 more coat, and then stick to the trusty Grubba blade, which has an un-boosted sheet already on it, should be able to get a good comparison between the 2 sheets. probably in about a year or so when it eventually...
  19. I Can't Deal With ABS Ball

yeah, I don’t play at that level, so no one I’ve played with hits that hard, they have taken a pounding though, from a lot of use, miss hits, hitting pretty hard objects like corners of walls, metal garage doors, edges of tables etc I’m pleasantly surprised they are still ok.;)
  20. I Can't Deal With ABS Ball

Nittaku 40+ Premium 3* balls have just gotta be the best I’ve used, if you can manage to keep in good condition, I mean use a lot, they seem to get better with age. i bought a 3 pack 1 1/2 yrs ago, lost one in a TV cabinet practicing feel and spin control in the living room!!!! The other 2 have...
