  1. Video Footage Safe Thread

Hi NDH - thanks for the note and thoughts. It was a great exercise - no short pushes though as no pushes at all allowed, so everything was flick or topspin on both sides. I certainly found that my FH flick was much better and more useful than I thought it was, particularly if played down the...

Thanks NL, that’s food for thought. How about shorter pushes - that’s where I get tempted into pushing back and then become involved in an unwanted push rally for which I don’t have the patience and often then attack the wrong ball and throw away the point? This week my club agreed that all...

It is certainly a game that humbles - I can be building up some self belief and feeling confident about my play and improvements and then go to club night and lose to players I really should be beating purely because they push a lot or play a style that causes me problems - it drives me nuts...
  4. 1 Game of Mine against college opponent

I think if he had a FH as good as his backhand you would be in trouble here.
  5. Fastarc G1 vs. Rakza X vs. V-15 Extra vs. Evo MX-S

Given the criteria I would also be looking at Raster C48 or R48 - both fantastic rubbers in my opinion.

Honestly, I learn so much from this thread over the months I have been frequenting it and posting - so often I focus on the technical and miss the nuanced stuff that comes out in this thread - I also understand Gozo's frustration with himself as I also battle with that.

Such a lot of really helpful information in here - very relevant to me too. More spin = more time to get into position for next shot and increased likelihood of getting the ball on the table. Regards underpin and wrist - I have been working on my reverse pendulum serve and using Dan's video on...
  8. BH rubber advice

Agreed, great review and love the format - would love to see a review of the Rasanter R/C 48/53
  9. Pictures of players‘ equipment at the WTT Budapest

Why do you think they are choosing R53 and not C53 given that the C is slightly more tacky and a little harder feeling?

What you say re boosting makes perfect sense - I have applied a layer of Faldo to my 09c in the past and it worked pretty well but I haven’t re-boosted. Andro prices make good sense if with a layer of boost they do a great job.
  11. Andro rasanter c series

C is counter spin - what I can tell you is the C is slightly more tacky top sheet and slightly harder feeling then R so a little more hybrid in feel - they’re both great but I slightly prefer C.
  12. Andro rasanter c series

Has anybody here who has tried R/C53 compared it with 09C? I really like 09c and everything I’m hearing about C53 (and less so R53) seems to indicate that, although it’s a little harder at 53, it may play a little softer but with some similar characteristics and maybe a bit less tackiness in...

R/C48 definitely more BH (that’s where I use it) but I’m really interested to see R53 when they could in some cases be using 09c - I’m keen to understand how these two compare.

Very interesting-lots of Rasanter r53 being played. As you say, plenty of pimples showing!
  15. 09c sponge better than Dignics 05 sponge?

Interesting - makes me wonder if the 05 sheet you played was not as it should be. My D80 is livelier and slightly faster still than my 05.
  16. Virtuoso Off-

5 out of 5 rating for Virtuoso I have tried a lot of blades in the last 6 months, including a few very decent 5 ply - these include;Primorac / Stiga all-round wood / Nittaku Acoustic / Nittaku ViolinWhilst I very much liked the Acoustic and Violin, the OSP is just a cut above in terms of build...

  18. WTT Champions (European Summer Series 2022)

I agree - ML started very poorly and appeared to be missing a lot of FH shots he normally would have put away. On top of that Franz played out of his skin and has just gone on to beat Darko which I definitely didn’t see coming either.
  19. 09c sponge better than Dignics 05 sponge?

I’ve played with both of these quite a lot recently and have to agree with NDH. 05 is much livelier and faster in every respect with similar shots, to the extent that, unless on a slower 5 ply blade, I can’t contemplate using it. On my Viscaria I can safely play 09c but definitely not 05, which...
