  1. Glue advice please

Revolution No. 3 glues Hi All,Please could someone tell me what the advantages of different glue viscosities are?I see Revolution No.3 comes in three versions: Normal, Medium and High viscosity - what would be the relative advantages/disadvantages of each?I assume each is better suited to...
  2. SDC Handmade Blades

Stunning work, as always! That's pretty heavy for only 5.5mm thick; is Cherry a heavy wood?
  3. Which rubbers do you consider superior to tenergy 05?

I suppose it depends on how you define "superior". I think what you mean is something like "possessing higher absolute performance potential." If that's the case then I don't know the answer (though I'm sure Yogi is right in his response, I just don't know those rubbers). On the other hand, if...
  4. Question for Blade-Builders

Beautiful! I wish all TT enthusiasts were able to try a blade or two made by a custom craftsman. It's hard to explain, but if you've used their blades you'll know what I mean: they just feel special. Keep up the excellent work all of you!
  5. SDC Handmade Blades

The Padauk and the Wenge (I think?) look beautiful together - very well done!

  7. I'm curious if this setup is worth the cost

The difference in tackiness between the two is very little; small enough that it really makes no difference. Those are both good quality, well-proven rubbers and whichever you choose will help you and your dad take your experience of the game to the next level and have fun developing new skills.
  8. I'm curious if this setup is worth the cost

Hi Linus, Short answer: Yes. That's a really good blade and good value for money. Likewise the Vega Euro rubbers are excellent. Perhaps consider the "Euro DF" rather than the older "Euro" - the "DF" version is better and the price difference is very little. If you are planning to also buy...
  9. Making All Wood Blade Faster Artificially

If you've decided to stick with a 5-ply Limba-outer blade then it's hard to beat Xiom Offensive S or Tibhar Stratus Powerwood - especially at their prices....
  10. Making All Wood Blade Faster Artificially

Butterfly also had a couple of Wenge outer blades - Hadraw VR and SR - but I believe they've been discontinued. I wonder how different the Stiga Nostalgic series is to those and whether or not they'll prove popular/successful over time.
  11. Making All Wood Blade Faster Artificially

Going back to the original post/question here ... I think you need to decide whether the 'feel' that you like is, specifically, the feel of a Limba outer-ply on an all-wood blade, or is it just an 'all-wood' feel more generally. If you specifically want to stick with the feel of a Limba...
  12. Making All Wood Blade Faster Artificially

Donic Persson Powerplay might be worth a try. It's a long-proven blade and good value for money.
  13. Making All Wood Blade Faster Artificially

Ah! Well, now you'll no doubt get plenty of advice as to faster all woods! I also used the Offensive Classic (25 years ago) and remember it very fondly. But it is too slow now. I've been tempted to try the Stiga Nostalgic Offensive (great review here...
  14. Making All Wood Blade Faster Artificially

What all wood do you use at the moment? Maybe there's a faster all wood available? Or you could ask one of the blade-makers on this forum to make you one...
  15. Joola Xylo 5 & 7 Blades Review

Totally off-topic, but I've noticed you've mentioned your liking for Rhyzer 48 several times recently and I was wondering if you've tested Rhyzer Pro 45 at all and, if so, what you think of it.
  16. Blade upgrade recommendation

Any chance you could try a few blades in the coaching group that you're part of? If you've done so already then perhaps you could mention one or two that you liked and one or two that you didn't?
  17. Jan Ove Waldner vs 40 Chinese Opponents!

Even now you can see his control and touch is something special!
  18. World Table Tennis Star Contender Doha 2021

Calderano vs. Jorgic - what a game! Maybe one of the best games not involving a top Chinese player that I've seen for a good while.
  19. Rubber recommendations. Stiga? DNA?

I've been testing DNA Pro H for a little while and think it's somewhat underrated. Certainly it's not 'up there' with the very best of the best in terms of top-end performance, but it does seem to me to be very easy to use. The Stiga Genesis M gave me the same impression: not quite as powerful...
