I've tried the TB ALC in FL (not the Vis or FZD) and I didn't find it unmanageable in terms of size. Not perfect, but viable..

We use these too for training. More than good enough for club play IMO.

Have you considered Dig Dipper 38? Also very good on BH IMO. Easier to use than J3, I think.

My guess on the big vs small venue is that bigger, modern venues usually have a HVAC system designed to keep the pressure inside slightly higher than on the outside, as it's easier to control the temperature in a large space when you don't have outside air leaking in to the venue. At least this...

Considering the price of a FZD ALC, I would make sure to actually test one before buying. It might feel like a divine revelation to you, but it might also feel like it's just another good blade. The Pro-01 is very good IMO.

Bad advice. In most lower level leagues the umpire is just another player who have to sit there as most of the matches don't have dedicated umpires. You will get away with a lot more disrespectful behavior than you should.

If you’re willing to risk destroying the blade (worst case) I don’t see why you couldn’t. Most CPen blades have a slightly different blade face geometry than their shakehand counterparts though. I think the key here is figuring out a way to cut it cleanly without causing delamination.
