  1. Which is faster? Tenergy or old speed glue rubbers?

BB, in another thread you said it's all about speed. I understood it so that you speak about speed of the bat at the moment of contact. And I very much agree. The swing is like a rotation, it has radius. The longer the radius, the faster the bat speed, given the same rate of body/arm rotation...
  2. rakza which one

I've only played with Rakza 9 shortly on friend's blade. It is very bouncy, due to bubbly sponge. I really don't like this kind of rubbers. Some people do like it. The sponge on Rakza X has smaller bubbles, and the sponge is a bit harder. Quality of both is good, there really is difference in...
  3. rakza which one

Rakza 9 is pretty bouncy. I have Rakza Z max and Rakza X 2.0 on XVT ZL Koto. If you do bounce test, Rakza X is a bit bouncier than Rakza Z. This week I glued new Rakza Z and X (both max) to friend's blade, when new, the bounce on Rakza Z is even less due to some tackiness. Rakza X is about the...
  4. Which is faster? Tenergy or old speed glue rubbers?

I don't have any documentation, but physically it makes sense for me. You know in the sense, more energy on a short scale means more chaos, means less consistent. But take e.g. darts. Try to hit the target with only 5cm movement of your arm. Definitely possible, but you must be pretty precise...
  5. Tips for transition strokes

Yes, I agree. I try to keep the elbow close to body, or the upper arm vertical - if not, the shoulder muscles can't be relaxed. Both your suggestions, the wide stance and the elbow position, are close to the top of the list of things I try to think/remember/keep during practise.
  6. Got this zlc blade on aliexpress for $20

OK, that's definitive enough for me :-) I was not sure you already explored that kind of rubbers, because you are zooming on the difference between the 3 AK47 rubbers (nothing wrong with it), and for me the difference between them is not as significant, as the difference from them to say H3 or...
  7. Tips for transition strokes

Is it possible that you freeze because there is simply not enough time to react, because you are too near the table? Or would you say you think there was enough time and you still freeze? Also, when you say you side-step and try to do FH - this is not freezing. Can you confirm these are two...
  8. Rakza 7 alternatives

Did you consider hybrid rubbers, e.g. Rakza Z?
  9. Got this zlc blade on aliexpress for $20

And hence the question to our Original Poster. Michal, what is your definitive position on the question of ESN vs tacky-harder-chinese? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN5LqWC4WhQ&list=PL4Rb2RLlvG3jdX-QJ-SzVcim4_rgJAuIr&t=86s
  10. Which is faster? Tenergy or old speed glue rubbers?

Fast rubber may help you in producing fast shots, but it will not help you much with producing a lot of spin - that is on you regardless speed-glue era or not - here not the rubber but your own hand must be/move fast - and for that the long big stroke is better than shorter stroke. Whether...
  11. Review: Vodak M. Horejsi EnTech ALC OFF

I've been thinking about the construction and what would interest me most is following. Let's say you are doing FH loops (usual warm-up) and you vary the power from say 30-40% up to 80-90% (where 100% is for loop-kill). I know how this feels with Viscaria, and you know how this feels with both...
  12. Coached vs un-coached player

That explains it. I knew you made some changes in technique and even had a problem/pain in the hip. But I didn't infer that it was connected with negative emotions, although when one thinks about it, it's logical.
  13. DHS Hurricane 3 Neo - Soft

I like the control, in short game, in flicks and also on stronger top-spins - I may need to apply brake with faster rubber, which I don't want to. And the spin produced. I don't feel I had to change the technique, in compare to euro-like or hybrids. I prefer H41 on FH, gives more "resistance"...
  14. American Pro player Setch Pech teaching very good tips

I like his approach very much, thanks for sharing, vik. I don't care whether he is American or Eskymo, and also I don't judge whether he is better than chinese or korean. He walks the path, and has a lot of fun on/from it. It seems he walked quite a distance sort of alone, found a lot of things...
  15. Coached vs un-coached player

Allow me an alternative angle :-) The change is not always 180 degree turn-around, the amount of change matters, nothing is rigid. The technique should feel right, mainly to the player self. Ideally the wish to change something comes from the player self, if not, the task is on couch or friend...
  16. Soon....

Shinozuka is pure joy to watch. I don't know Japanese, I've only found this channel, which I need to go through, because I don't understand the titles, to find what I look for: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7mDcpZ4nKGnGwtbnhoexUPRccxdmuJJv If anybody can post links to matches of...
  17. Getting back into TT properly with the DHS Neo Hurricane 3

@UpSideDownCarl, you have invested a lot of time explaining Gozo's issue and the frog pose, I hope it eventually bears fruits... In my past, when I practised other sports, the trainer wouldn't say a word - he just assumed the position and we repeated, or tried to :-) As I said, I did this...
  18. Getting back into TT properly with the DHS Neo Hurricane 3

Thanks for the clarifications, both specific ones for Gozo's issue and those about the frog pose exercise. Hope Gozo gets well and that potentially the frog pose might be useful to someone.
  19. Getting back into TT properly with the DHS Neo Hurricane 3

I meant this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1gQlqpKRv8 Please clarify for Gozo when he can use that exercise. Regarding myself, I used to do this exercise quite often when practising Taekwondo. I do believe it helps hip flexibility and in TT to have wide stance. However, I am not an expert...
  20. Feedback on topspin form

Haha, this is a good one, BB. They mean it in the "Archimedes lever" sense. They mistakenly consider the ground as something truly stable :-)
