  1. Getting back into TT properly with the DHS Neo Hurricane 3

You may like the frog pose. The "dose-ability" of the amount of stretch in it is good :)
  2. Getting back into TT properly with the DHS Neo Hurricane 3

I think about it this way. Simplified a lot, there are two rotations (in the forward motion). First is the rotation of the body around its own axis, and then the actual arm swing. But these two rotations are not totally synchronous, that's the whole point, it's like the first one supercharges...
  3. I cannot win

Even expressing this kind of disappointment or low-point requires courage and fight spirit. So keep your fight. In reality it is not that you can't win, it is that you can't lose.
  4. Should I change to Chinese rubber on the forehand?

Perhaps the best is to simply buy one H3 (maybe hardness H37, H38 or H39) and try it. This will give you certainty. The commercial version is quite cheap.
  5. KOR - Skilled 13 yr old doing lots of good play and trcik shots ENG SUB

Kids have an unfair advantage to us mere humans, they have no muscle power! His precision is fantastic. His movements remind me of LYJ.
  6. How to review a blade properly?

Pretty cool table. Which ones are your favorites now?
  7. Feedback on topspin form

:-) Understand. I recommend TTNuri's videos on FH topspin mechanics, just in case you didn't go through it yet. Much better than my attempts to get the points across. There are also visualizations of sequences, also from other sports. It helps to put things into some frame and context, you...
  8. Feedback on topspin form

Yes. The left hand will stay down not because you consciously let it stay down, but as a result of the movement. It can go a bit up. More important is to get a bit more from that chest stretch. Oh, I didn't mean you have "round" back always - when you stand straight it didn't appear to me at...
  9. Feedback on topspin form

You are a tall guy and you compensate that a bit with "round" back. You could put the feet a bit further apart - your right foot would be where it is, the left foot would be more apart from it, that would also get you a bit lower. You can experiment with it in the preparatory phase. Now when the...
  10. Review: Vodak M. Horejsi EnTech ALC OFF

Mr. Vodak says on the page that the AP-Carbon (APC) is more densely-woven (knitted?) than the ALC, and it is *softer*, and gives more even bounce and better control. These attributes made it possible to insert 4 layers...
  11. Review: Vodak M. Horejsi EnTech ALC OFF

Late (very late) thanks for your reply! The Viscaria works for me, it pairs well with tacky linear rubbers, I should stick to it, says the brain. Still, when I found out about the Vodák "4APC King Stiff&Spin", I was decided to go for it. Then I read this great review of yours, and suddenly I had...
  12. what makes xu xin's forehand so distinctive

These are excellent choices, I fully agree. I like WCQ's FH the most. I had to wrestle with this formulation. If you say, XX, ML, TB is the current gen, and Uda Yukia, LJY, WCQ are next gen, it would not strike me. But if you say that about their FH technique, it sounded a bit odd at first. I...
  13. what makes xu xin's forehand so distinctive

Side-by-side view TB and ML: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IS-uwOXXZOc FZD and ML: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oySQ3k7TYCI TB & Chen Chien-an (not side-by-side): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8tifadOn3A Imho, TB's energy transfer is exemplary. There are differences, and ML's...
  14. Which rubbers?

I read your posts and this particular line, in the context of the discussion, made me think like "what the ... is this". In other words, that your posts lack substance. That is also why I put a "like" on Carl's post. Maybe I am wrong, and I am willing to change my opinion. But surely...
  15. Tenergy on Hurricane Long 5

My PG5 has frequency 1292, it is not very fast. Nothing special, for the price it's OK. It's as you say. I'm cured of cheap blades now.
  16. Getting back into TT properly with the DHS Neo Hurricane 3

It seems in the more recent video you are more relaxed, while getting the same power transmitted as before (if not more). I bet you feel this too, and that reinforces your relaxation :-) I am not really in a position to give you advice, so forgive the following :-) I think you could concentrate...
  17. problem with light boost of hurricane 3

Now the rubber is a bit over-ripe :-) When re-gluing a cut rubber, it's actually helpful when it is curled, because when attaching the bottom of the rubber, the upper part tends to stand a bit more in the air and not accidentaly touch the blade. The rubber is stretched due to booster, you get...
  18. Review: Vodak M. Horejsi EnTech ALC OFF

Great review, thank you. I'm looking forward the coming one. Can you compare the blade with Viscaria and/or HL5?
  19. New Sanwei rubber - first look

I know you have it on both sides. BH was no surprise, only FH was, a bit. I boost with 2 layers of Falco, seems to dome enough. About to glue H37 prov. today, have comm. now. When I run of Falco, I'll add some parafin oil (as Carl suggested) to my rest baby oil, perhaps add some of my old...
  20. New Sanwei rubber - first look

I noticed you like H37 also on the FH. It is somewhat pleasing, that you, of all people, stay on H3. Tried again, I only feel the difference in speed clearly, but not in the throw angle. Would probably need recording to recognize it. I need the feeling of resistance of harder sponge on FH.
