I think you can just play on. Instead of the edge tape, I recommend using a edge pad. It offers more cushion. I see some people use the edge pad around the entire blade head. I don't like this, so I just use it on the down-facing side of the blade to prevent hitting the table.

I bought the Neottec cleaner from TT11. What I do is spray a little of the cleaner on the rubber, and then use a wet tower to wipe it.

I'm also curious, what would happen if they put a regular sponge (like H3 sponge) on a LP topsheet? Would you be able to block and drive with that? or does it make it uncontrollable?
