  1. Poly Ball - Pros and Cons

TTHopeful - I don't mind you copy/pasting verbatim my thread from over at myTT - it will be great to get more opinions from ttdaily too. To be clear for those users who have accounts here and over at myTT - TTHopeful isn't me. Just want to avoid any confusion.
  2. DHS Rubbers for Backhand

Tin Arc is great. You can get it for around £18 on ebay - good value for the performance. The new H3-50 might also be a good BH option, but it's very new and no reviews have appeared yet.
  3. New DHS products release march 2014

I asked tt11 about Tin Arc 5 this morning. I was hoping too order H3-50 and Tin Arc 5 together, but they said that Tin Arc 5 was 1-2 months away yet. So I've just ordered the H3-50 today - can't wait that long.
  4. New Donic Rubbers and Blades 2014

I've heard it will be Mid-April.
  5. New Donic Rubbers and Blades 2014

Strange - no mention of JP-02 in that catalog. Perhaps it's not being released in Japan? I'm really looking forward to it, and JP-01 Turbo. And those blades look super sweet...
  6. New DHS products release march 2014

It's Hurricane 3-50 (not 3.5, like it's 0.5 better or something). Here is some info over at tt11: http://www.tabletennis11.com/other_eng/dhs-hurricane-3-50-tt19058669#.UxslbxuPN9A They say that the "-50" part of the name refers to the sponge, which is #50. IIRC, that's the sponge from Tin...
  7. Viscaria

Great blade, I'm sure you'll love it. Do you mind if ask where you bought it from?
  8. weirdest blade out?

My gut feeling is no. The playing surface should be "continuous", although there is a chance of existing shakehand configurations breaking that rule too. This is one of those situations where you could use it in a match, and an umpire could intervene. Or a disgruntled opponent could complain...
  9. Help in finding the perfect blade for my friend

If your friend likes the Mazunov, and finds the Korbel too slow, I would recommend he tries out some fast-ish 7 ply all wood blades. Stiga Clipper, Korbel SK7, Adidas Challenge Speed.
  10. weirdest blade out?

I've got one of these - the 5 wood 2 carbon version. It's a lot of fun to use, and I often think about using it seriously (meaning local league level). I did have to use it for one match after I broke my main blade, and it was the only spare I had in my bag. Won my matches with it, but it was...
  11. fs: butterfly viscaria

Good blade, nice price Seb. Seb is a good seller with a solid reputation on many TT forums.
  12. Tenergy rubber price

Yes, comes out to about £34. Shame they won't (aren't allowed to) ship to the EU though.
  13. Tenergy rubber price

That's just the RRP. It will probably stay "discounted" to £49.99. It's just the usual bit of trickery to make everyone feel slightly better about paying 50 quid for a rubber which sells for almost half the price in Japan.
  14. New Butterfly robot Amicus PRO

Where is that from Chris? TeesSport?
  15. Yinhe rubbers.

Moon and Sun are great rubbers. The first grippy (as opposed to tacky) Chinese rubbers that I really liked. I prefer a soft sponge on my backhand though, so I didn't really get on with the harder-sponged Moon. Most websites seem to sell Moon in 38deg hardness or so, but this place sells Moon...
  16. New Zhang jike blades on tees sport

Disappointing, but not unexpected. These look to be very similar to the equivalent Boll series blades (or, in the case of the ALC, similar to the Viscaria, or Boll Spirit as well). No doubt there will be minor differences, but I can't see anything which justifies the higher price. Teessport...
  17. Can't believe...

If the players have met with the eligibility criteria, then that's the end of the story really. You might have an issue with the criteria, so you could campaign about that, but to boil the issue down to "germans" vs "Chinese-germans" is a gross oversimplification of how complicated this is, and...
  18. Can't believe...

At a national sporting level, we are talking about one country verses another. There have to be rules about how each player qualifies for membership of a country, otherwise there would be no national identity in a national team. It would just be a free for all - who would care about Great...
  19. Innerforce ALC vs Timo Boll ALC

What are your Tenergy options with Lee Sports?
  20. Innerforce ALC vs Timo Boll ALC

The Viscaria is, IMO, almost the same as the Boll ALC. If anything, I just found the Viscaria to be slightly softer, but it's so marginal. I haven't tried the Viscaria Light, so I can't comment on that. The Boll ZLF is one of my favorite blades. Similar construction to the Boll ALC, but...
