  1. Serve return advice?

That's why I shared the FZD video. He gets super slow when he attack long backspin balls. If the ball is low, get yourself even lower (and try to hit it at the top of the bounce - it would rarely be lower than net height). The spin will take more practice to get used to. Another key thing about...
  2. DHS Hurricane G where did you go ????

https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV18K4y1479s/?spm_id_from=333.337.search-card.all.click Here's a review video by table tennis Gan. There's no subtitle though. I'll try to summarise it: - Hurricane G is a commercial version of W-965, which was used by Zhu Yuling at some point - Tested with 40...
  3. Butterfly officially announces Glazer and Glazer 09C

https://d3d71ba2asa5oz.cloudfront.net/12008923/images/rubber%20matrix%20fall%202019.png in the old version (not sure which year this is released, but it has Dignics on it), Tenergy and their respective FX versions have the same ratings. All Roundells have the same ratings. This does not seem...
  4. Serve return advice?

Generally, banana flicks are used when the serve is short and you don't have enough room to just topspin the ball. Since you are putting sidespin on the ball, you lose some energy that could have been converted into topspin and/or speed of the ball. It seems that your practice partner serves...

Which 12 blades did you get?
  6. Yinhe Moon Speed 53 in the US?

There wasn't direct comparison between Moon speed with rakza 7. The review I read described Moon speed 53 as a linear rubber with little catapult, non-tacky but enough grip on surface, slightly faster than Hurricane 8-80. It said Moon speed 53 is the Chinese version of Vega Tour. I'd imagine...
  7. Yinhe Moon Speed 53 in the US?

Unlikely. I read from Chinese website that it's a balanced, OFF/OFF- rubber. Seems to me it's a cheaper alternative to something like Rakza 7. Personally I prefer more extreme rubbers if I'm gonna pay more than 15 dollars, otherwise I'd just get CJ8000.
  8. Yinhe Moon Speed 53 in the US?

Response from BEO store, one of the seller on Aliexpress:
  9. Less hard rubber than Victas VS401 for defence [FOREHAND]

https://www.victas.com/en_gb/products/rubber/pinplein/allround/vs-401 https://www.victas.com/en_gb/products/rubber/pinplein/allround/vs-402 VS >402 is 50 deg whereas VS > 401 is 57.5 deg, it may be what you are looking for. I have no actual experience with either of them though.
  10. Carbon surface blades

Never played with one, but i'd imagine soft touches will be difficult since the composite layer is on top. I also wonder whether it will be more difficult to glue rubbers on it.
  11. Ideas for exercises that help with irregular footwork?

I'm guessing your semi-regular drill is like regular drill with random switching by the feeder? You can do serve & open up exercise with random receive/block/counter from the feeder. Start with completely regular drill first, introduce randomness (earlier and earlier) as you become comfortable...
  12. Dimitrij Ovtcharov Uses Pre-Made Bat vs TableTennisDaily's Dan!

It is the Butterfly specialist, so probably this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Butterfly-Specialist-Table-Tennis-Size/dp/B08J858T1N/ref=asc_df_B08J858T1N?tag=bingshoppinga-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=79920857931812&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4583520392529448&psc=1
  13. How rubber properties affect throw

First of all, let's start with my understanding about 'throw'. In my mind, the 'throw' is the angle that the ball will leave the racket surface when you loop (or other stroke). The ball will leave a high throw rubber in tangential direction (in direction of brushing), whereas the ball will leave...
  14. Favorite rubbers based on sponge color?

Matching colours between topsheet and sponge.
  15. Need new FH rubber to my Stiga Cybershape Carbon

Soft-ish rubber with spin and control, less catapult than Rakza? Try Yinhe Mercury 2 medium first.
  16. Tenergy 05fx alternative

How do I buy Butterfly products from TT11? They don't seem to show up on the website.
  17. Tenergy 05 Hard v D09c

I wouldn't think that would solve the problem. Generally harder sponge = higher top speed but also requires more physical effort to achieve high speed.
  18. Spinny serves

For spinny serves, you want two things: - excellent surface grip - limited bounciness But frankly it's >90% technique unless you're playing with cheap premades. My serves are similarly effective when I use Mercury II and MX-S.
  19. Equipment setup - Timo Boll ALC with Xiom Rubbers?

I think getting an ALC blade is OK since you'd use the blade for the long time, so investing in a good one early is not a bad idea. However, The Xiom Omega series are fast rubbers. Combining those with an ALC blade would likely to be too fast for early intermediate players. You may want to...
