Maybe Xiom Omega 7 China Yan/Guang or Bluegrip C1/C2. I'm playing with the Bluegrip C2 on both backhand and forehand atm. I can't compare to D09c because I've never tested it but I am very pleased with the Bluegrip C2.

The problem doesn't come from the shortpip then. Maybe your technique which is not adapted to short pip ? Again I never tested your blade, but 1 ply blade are in general among the fastest blade you can find on the market.

What's the name of the shortpips you played with yesterday ? 1 ply kiso hinoki blade are in general blazingly fast, and the Darker's blades are no exception from what I've heard. Perhaps the problem come from your shortpip.

Why don't you give it a try if you have already the 1 ply kiso Hinoki blade ? Nothing is impossible, for example the top player Mattias Falck plays with a limba outer blade with his shortpip in forehand.

Is the omega 7 hyper a bouncy rubber ? How is the bounce compared to traditional esn rubber like Rasanter R47 ?

Let me add my two cents. I think if you look just at the sponge hardness it doesn't mean anything. A 55 degree rubber doesn't mean it will have less control than a 47.5 one. For example, I'm playing atm with a Donic Bluegrip C2 which has a sponge hardness of 55 degree. It has a lot more control...

Did you get the opportunity to try the bluegrip ? I'm playing with the bluegrip C2 at the moment, and would like to move to a Xiom rubber just because I'm curious (and I love the brand also). If It plays similar to the Bluegrip, I will try the Omega 7 hyper instead of the 07c Guang.

Can someone compare Bluegrip C1/C2 vs O7c Ying/Guang ? I'm just curious if they play the same or if they are drastically different.

If you want a harder rubber, perhaps try a Bluefire M1/M1 turbo with 1.8mm thickness or 2.0mm so you can still feel the wood
