  1. Blade for absolute starter

For me "decent premade" is rather not a £10 racket, more like the price of Appelgren with srivers ... so why bother? As FruitLoop said these would be quite similar and with the premade you have problems taking rubbers off. Economically questionable ...
  2. Blade for absolute starter

I'm more of the opinion that the equipment should "grow" with you. For sure there are intermediate setups between "very slow set up" and a "carbon blade", so the transition could be more smooth.
  3. Blade for absolute starter

I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt as it comes to little (probably very little) kids, but this is all I'm willing to do ... : )
  4. Blade for absolute starter

Sure ... ironically I had a £10 pre made bat, not sure for how long, but the moment I tried my friend's equipment the light bulb went on in my mind. My racket and his was like a night and day. So my thinking is why should you engage in this stage (specially not being a kid) when you can go...
  5. Blade for absolute starter

NDH, £10 blades usually have poor quality rubbers and wood - it is almost a nonsense, specially for "serious" starters and you can not take the rubbers off easily. I've seen dozens kids playing very confident with Appelgren allplay or Waldner (the yellow handle), those blades give you a proper...

  7. 2019 Portugal Open Feb 13-17

Myabe it's calculated in the context of their future schedule?
  8. 2019 Portugal Open Feb 13-17

Last men standing PENG Wang-Wei TPE have just lost to YU Heyi CHN 2:4, so for the day 1 lets admit that Chinese players won it this time, no convincingly imho, but yeah ... they won ... ; )
  9. 2019 Portugal Open Feb 13-17

I checked it out of the curiosity, to see how the Chinese players are performing against the rest of the World in the preliminaries (don't know really why I've chosen the CNT ; ) So far they seem to be doing ok, they are winning probably about 23 to nada/null/zip/niente/0 ...
  10. 2019 Portugal Open Feb 13-17

I think Andrew will take even bigger bit next time. Congrats to him btw! : ) Gavin have lost unfortunately.
  11. 2019 Portugal Open Feb 13-17

Just having one eye on the Portugal Open, Gavin Rumgay table two to be staged. Wasn't he in the "Ping Pong" business too, last or this year?
  12. Rackets for two different styles...

I never played with LP in example on a regular basis, and yet feel quite (edit: relatively ; ) comfortable playing against them ... but sure, knowing the rubber helps.
  13. Marvellous 12 2019

It will always be a puzzle I guess. Say there is somebody, the best in the country but with a very poor record against the "foreigners", and the second person in the country has an outstanding record against the foreigners ... Depending on the country you'll have different answers. In Poland it...
  14. A rubber slightly faster than sriver and spinnier but not bouncier

Yep Barracuda is definitely very spinny, quite hard as compared to Sriver I'd say.
  15. Boosting Tibhar Mx-s

Tibhar says p and s have the same rubber hardness. The p version seemed too flexible for me and that's why I'm using s. Yeah I was actually surprised how you judged the speed of those two rubbers. I would say the opposite, but - true - I never tried it on the same blades. Booster for me is...
  16. Boosting Tibhar Mx-s

ok .. Apolonia is a nice blade, many of my friends use it (with G1 or Tenergy Hard). So is mx-s really too slow? What level do you play if I may ask? I'm not criticizing you, just it's interesting that mx-s can be "too slow" ... : ) I myself am just a keen amateur.
  17. Boosting Tibhar Mx-s

Yogi, btw how do you find your AX? How would you place it in my world of TB alc/zlf, Korbel, Primorac, Curious? Edit: Just have found your review ... : )
  18. Boosting Tibhar Mx-s

Just out of curiosity, what blade do you use? Cause I put mx-s on TB alc once and it was really fast. Almost a bullet.
  19. Boosting Tibhar Mx-s

Are you serious about mx-s being slower than mx-p? My Opinion is mx-s is one of the fastest I ever tried, thanks God my Curious blade is not that fast.
  20. Timo Boll posts new photos of his rubbers and blades

So my old, Formula 1 analogy stands ...
