  1. The doubles game

I always believe that doubles are always more technical and more difficult to play, let alone master than singles, though there are certain quarters who begs to differ. By having right/lefthanded partnership to right/right or left/left handed partnership, there are endless possibilities, right...

If the selection was based on the current form, I think it's a bit premature

  4. Serving Strategy

Short side spin is only asking for trouble, it should have a combo of under spin as well(hitting the ball at 7o'clock). And to avoid your opponents flicking, keep it low and spin it harder.
  5. If u were to choose which style would u fight against?

In fact, there are times where we receive visitors to our club, they will be shaking their heads playing against this fella. All of us will be at the corner snickering away..:D. As far as he thinks, he is not doing anything wrong. His forehand swerve violently and backhands beyond the...
  6. If u were to choose which style would u fight against?

To be honest, I enjoy playing against all the type of players above, but what really like is playing against unorthodox players. It gets really tricky sometimes, and I have to depend on my wits and experience to pull me through. One of the sort of players play in my club, and they call him the...
  7. French Open 2011

Yup, it seems Rafaell is the main nemesis for Roger. It terms of playing style, Fed has this fluidity in his strokes compared to Rafael's. He times his shot perfectly, which reminds me a lot of players in the era of Sampras. Edberg, Cash, Wilander etc. The grace makes his shots look effortless...
  8. Be inspired - London 2012!

Hi Joe, the only thing that I can utter at the moment is nothing short of IMPRESSIVE. Your achievements are just mind blowing, academically and in sports. Keep up the good work buddy, and I wish you all the very best in everything that you do. Thx Dan for threading this, it's one of the best...
  9. Improving Service

Yousa was right, covering the serve as we know is illegal. When I say tossing the ball towards your body, I mean tossing it, NOT throwing the ball horizontally towards your body and into the bat (which is a foul = illegal).
  10. Ma long backhand

That's the follow through, which all strokes have it, and should be made as a habit. Rhydian mentioned it in his last paragraph, and he's quite right. But notice that he's elbow does not move much.
  11. French Open 2011

I've been following the French open since the 1st day. You could see Nadal's & Fed's game getting better the further they went into the tourney. Previously Nadal's been hitting quite short, and later into the tourney, he began to find the length. The Fed vs Novak match, I think novak got kinda...
  12. [Video] Service practice

Pictures 1-5 – service phase Timo serves with the forehand from the backhand side. The right leg is in front of the left one. The ball is at the highest point of the throw up. Timo is really fixed on it (picture 1). The bat movement (pictures 2,3) indicate a side-backspin serve. If you compare...
  13. Improving Service

Hi Bryce, most people have the misconception that it's all in the wrist, in fact it is not. Though it plays a role in your over all serve, most amateurs forget to use their entire body including their feet. Wrist work is only the the final act of your service. Serving with your arms and wrist...
  14. Left or Right handed - Which is better?

I just think that lefties play against righties more often, so they adapt better compared to us righties. Basically they get more training hours. But like sifu Liu Guoliang said also that lefties doesn't like so much being moved left and right across the table. Probably they are so used to the...
  15. Hello from ... Luxembourg :D

Hello Rhydian..glad to have you on board. This is an international forum/site. Grammatical mistakes comes with territory. Don't worry about it, we are all a cool bunch.... Btw, instead of asking you, why don't you put them up in your profile. It's a lot easier for others to get to know you.
  16. Help

Hi Kimo,do what I usually do. When in doubt, hit hard. Try brushing the ball hard (with the racket should finish forward or towards your opponents direction NOT upwards). Fast racket speed is the key. Take the ball early, and in no time, you'll get the feel and looping will be peanuts. It...
  17. Introduce yourself to the forum! :)

Don't worry about it William, its a pretty much a standard operation. Quite a few of my athlete friends had it, and they are back in training in no time. The same will be for you too...you'll be back competing before you know it. Good luck on the operation buddy...
  18. Who will topple China?

I totally agree with Wiwa. Its the same goes to most of us. like I said, parents play an important role in this matter. But then again, with the current prize money on offer, who could blame them. Its certainly not a way to earn a living. As mentioned by pingpongpom and I quote "We find that...
