  1. Jab/Shovel Service video

Thanks again for sharing. I can agree to every single advice you have given. I've heard pretty much the same from other coaches as well. Thanks for pointing this out. I do wonder though how your National rating translates into german TTR. But I think it should be possible to translate since...
  2. The All Time Greatest

That's an interesting point. I believe his forehand is still good enough to blow most forum members [EDIT:certainly including myself] off the table...
  3. China Super League 2016 (CTTSL)

Oh, i see. I didn't know that yet. Thanks for enlightening, TTFrenzy. [Emoji106]
  4. I Need Your Help

May i ask why you just don't post your vids here and check the reaction? I'm quite sure there will be some helpful comments...
  5. The All Time Greatest

FZD just lost today against Liang JingKun. [Emoji15] I think we will have to wait and see, if he really is so untouchable as people claim...
  6. China Super League 2016 (CTTSL)

LJK = Liang Jingkun or LJK = Liu Jikang? [Emoji12] Still no Info on Ding Ning? Meanwhile I'm holding a medi and listen to some LKJ = Linton Kwesi Johnson
  7. What's happened to Ovtcharov's performance recently?

Hahahaaa, who knows? [Emoji23] [Emoji106] No, I'm not. But I think he (and a few more pros too) has (have) been reading here already... If you find me on Instagram [which isn't hard] you can see a pic of me...
  8. What's happened to Ovtcharov's performance recently?

I wouldn't be too worried either. See it's quite likely that having such major changes in Life like having a baby does affect the performance. Just take a look at Roger Federer.... And Dima is a working machine, i'm pretty sure, that he'll catch up again. Comparing the talent between Dima and...
  9. Jab/Shovel Service video

Amazing Tutorial, ttpshot! Thanks a lot for sharing and translating. [To keep up OSPH's nice vibe] domo arigato gozaimashita. That video is actually showing what i have been trying to describe in words on the chit chat thread a couple of days ago and makes it better understandable. That is...
  10. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

That are some touching words, Sir. Thank you for the acknowledgement. Actually I'm just trying to give back what has been given to me... But i guess a video or two of me are long overdue. I have to work on that. ;) Did I actually already mention how much i love being part of this forum?
  11. Amicus measurements

Hey Al, thanks a lot. The club is rather small but we thought we'll spend the money on something useful since amateur clubs shouldn't make financial profits without reinvesting them over here. But I think you're right, the dimensions should be correct, i haven't measured it personally yet. I...
  12. The All Time Greatest

Easy guys, i think Carl's posts could be intended differently to how they might have come across. I think having witnessed the Waldner era in real Life it's probably unquestionable who is the G.O.A.T. (sort of like Ridderz' post) But not having witnessed that time personally might make things...
  13. Recommend a blade/rubber combo to a beginner

Many people value control on the BH, so IMHO just go for max. on FH and 1.9 on BH. Max is in most cases 2.1mm or 2.2mm [this can vary a little from company to company and from rubber to rubber] Due to ITTF regulations sponge and rubber are not allowed to be thicker than 4mm in total anyway.
  14. Recommend a blade/rubber combo to a beginner

Der Echte's post is on point. I can tell from first hand experience that starting out with a thicker sponge can help improve your game quicker. Here's what i've experienced. My first coach made me Switch back to a 1.6 Rubber on FH and a 1.3 on the BH after i had 2mm preassembled from China...
  15. Belgium First League 2016-2017

Luv the angle. So much better than standard ITTF...
  16. Help to improve match mentality

Hahaha, you mean that profile pic? [Emoji23] That's not me, that's an old photo of Bob Marley. I look slightly different. On my Instagram you can see pics of me.. Maybe i should change the pic, though...
  17. The All Time Greatest

No worries, it's all good, mate. In terms of quantity i guess China is undisputably ahead. But Sweden also had quite a few players in the top ten. So if one compares the percentage of high level players to the number of population, Sweden could actually even be ahead. [Emoji2] But the swedish...
  18. The All Time Greatest

Sorry mate, but I think this is not very accurate. Waldner was rivaled by many on a National level. Appelgren, Persson, Lindh, Peter Karlsson just to name a few. Also we must not forget about the old masters like Bengtsson, Johannson, Tickan which gave him an excellent solid foundation...
  19. The All Time Greatest

Haha :) I think Blueskies has a point though, but if we see it that way, then only one player comes to my mind who has been able to play on such a high level for such a long time. Samsonov. And Vladi even reached olympics semifinal at such an age... But maybe looking at decades indeed makes a...
  20. The All Time Greatest

I understand both of you. Having seen Waldner playing from an early age on i can understand your point, but to someone younger it's a total different story. Waldner's game doesn't or rather didn't Look as spectacular and athletic as Xu Xin's game for instance. And i believe he could be having...
