  1. A lighter blade

Nils has been playing a rosewood and kind of wants to rebuild his spin, so chosing a carbon blade wouldn't be the wisest option. I'm not so sure if you have read this whole thread, but i'll tell you anyway. If you want to learn or rebuild your spin then using a carbon blade should be your very...
  2. A lighter blade

Well if your coach says energy wood, i'd probably go for it. Blades with a hard top ply like the rosewood are nice if you already know how to spin the ball well, but if you want to learn to spin properly, you'd be doing yourself a big favour if you get yourself a blade with a softer top ply...
  3. Slowing down your play

I think you're on the right path. Stick to the consistency and to the spin. The speed comes on it's own, if you feel secure and confident enough with your shots. Placement is the key. If opponents keep counterlooping your open-up loops, then you're placement is obviously not good enough...
  4. TT-Training FUN-Video - Marcos Freitas feeling exercices, "magic tricks", giant bat

Wow, NextLevel. That was more than 2 minutes. Crayzayyyyy!! That was Freitas-like! U da man.... I really gotta start practicing. Amazing.
  5. New Stiga Blade - Stiga Exclusive OFF

Looks nice. Reminding me a little of the old stiga offensive blade from the eighties i've been playing when i was sixteen. http://www.deti016.de/#!album-7-53
  6. A lighter blade

I guess it depends on your point of view, carl. One of my teammates plays the energy wood and weighs around 88g and it feels rather 'head'-heavy than heavy. So you're probably right. Still my nittaku shake offence weighs exactly 77 grams, hence the energy wood felt much much heavier to me...
  7. A lighter blade

The rosewood is a very nice blade, but if you want to improve on fh topspin i would consider something softer with a limba outer ply. Hinoki is also great for looping but for learning i would consider something softer like limba which gives you enough dwell time to put some nice rotation on the...
  8. Growing TT in the USA

It is.... Here: http://de.statista.com/statistik/daten/studie/215957/umfrage/mitgliederzahl-des-deutschen-tischtennis-bundes/ Very Interesting. It seems to have been decreasing MUCH less since then. Thank you.
  9. Green Flooring at Rio Olympics 2016!

It doesn't look bad, but as Reaper already pointed out, i really miss the contrast.
  10. My version of Ma long serve

Firstly: Welcome to the site, siva. Plenty of great vids and valuable information can be gained from here. From seeing your serve you don't look like a total beginner to me. :) We have beginners at our club that look totally different to what you've been showing. ;) I think the previous posters...
  11. Player of Swiss National League C at TTC Finow (Germany)

Thanks for sharing. Nick Rütter showed some nice stop blocks. Great touch. But he wasn't prepared for that 'crazy' backhand of yours. ;) Nice vid.
  12. Growing TT in the USA

I'm not sure if i got you right. But if i do, the rating system TTR (equivalent to USATT Rating) started around 2005/2006. Before that the whole system was a little intransparent and not easy to comprehend. The decreasing of memberships has got several reasons and also forced clubs to change...
  13. Blade Advise needed

My last Spinart lasted almost a full season. (From september to may). But only played 10 - 15 hours per week and also used rubber protection sheets and good storage. My BH rubber was and still is T05.
  14. I think I hate playing tournaments

Pressure...... Let me say it again.... Pressure..... Isn't that what turns a piece of charcoal into a diamond? ;)
  15. I think I hate playing tournaments

You're right. Tabletennis is fun. But that what you call a ton load is actually a featherweight cause it's all fun to me. You see i really love playing tabletennis cause it's so much fun. But guess what: It becomes even more fun, the better i play! But that might just be me... ;)
  16. I think I hate playing tournaments

Hahaha. Exactly. ;) Sometimes i think i can smell their fear... ;) *hannibal-lecter-mode-off* Bingo. I wanna pound the 'like' button twice for this. :)
  17. I think I hate playing tournaments

Well, i think i kinda understand. I got used playing tournaments as a kid, so TT Tournaments were always a nice event to me, meeting friends and stuff. But after i've took a looooooong break, and returning and played my first tournament i also felt that kind of pressure, but i realized the only...
  18. Professional Table Tennis lessons with Thomas Keinath

Nice. Hope you'll have a real good time and learn and improve a lot. Maybe we can link up while you're here. I stay about a 45 minutes car drive away. Anyhow... Let us know how things went... Especially if you make it on a team. No matter if 2nd league or 5th league.
  19. Advice on Shakehand Blade

Disagree... Quantity doesn't equalize Quality. Even if you pick up stuff fast. There are players over here playing in the fifth highest league and don't practice a lot, (maybe just once or twice a week) but that's most of the times because they played much higher already and already developed...
  20. I think I hate playing tournaments

From watching the vids i think, your opponent wasn't that much better than you and hence not unbeatable for you. As carl already pointed out, your opponent probably was just a little more familiar with the ball and surroundings. You've been looping his long serves and been spinning the ball...
